Thanks so much for your videos on this Coleman pool....it seems this is the one that will replace my 24 x 54 Atrium above ground pool that has rusted out after 12 years,,,, Thanks for all the advice!!!!
Mine was salt water last year for the first time, getting it ready this year and the whole pool was rusted out and several legs unusable. Had to replace the pool. Don’t use salt
Nice swimming pool hope mine last as long as yours has I just bought this pool from Walmart I’ll be setting it up in the middle of next month I got the newest model mine doesn’t have the windows
My friend has had this same pool for at least three years that I know of. She basically lets it go to crap every year until summer time rolls around lol . She doesn’t care for it at all. She doesn’t do any of the above to even try to keep this thing from rotting. Guess what? The darn thing is still going! No rust, rips leaky windows…nothing. Did I mention it’s not even leveled? So there you go! It’s currently sitting lopsided with sludge, mud and a ton of leaves waiting for summer to roll around! True story! If this pool can withstand her family of six, imagine how long it will last with your tips!!! Thanks for all the info. I’m currently taking notes from all your pool videos so I can set up my Coleman 26’x12’x52” oval pool. I couldn’t find the sand pump size you have but I was wondering if the 2800gph would work. I’m going to have to google the sand pump size I need like you suggested. Thank you!
I feel like her situation should be Colemans commercial on how tough they are. 🤣🤣 I think the 2800 would be fine. The 3000 I have it probably more than needed, so that one should work! Thanks for watching. ❤
I have a large above ground pool and basically I just throw chlorine in it and run the filter lol. I always tell people how easy it is to take care of lol. Not sure if I’m not doing something right but other than some algae sometimes and having to shock it it’s really easy to take care of 🤷🏻♀️
That is exactly what we do! 🤣🤣 People start asking me about Bromine levels and such, and I tell them I have no idea what they are asking. 🤣 They really are super easy to take care of, just have to make sure you stay on top of it.
I had this pool for two seasons, and one thing you should not do (that I did) was use a salt water chlorine generator in it. Oh, it worked great and is less maintenance, however, the end of last year I had about four legs rust completely at the "T" supports to where they detached from the legs and a few rusted completely though at the feet. Glad it's working out for you because it is a great pool. My windows never leaked either, and I live in northern Indiana where we get a couple months of hard freeze.
So, the pool comes with a cover but we have never used it. We don't have trees, and our winters are mild so I leave it uncovered. However, I know you can use a tarp and rachet straps to cover it.
I've had this same pool for 5 years now and it's been great. The windows have never leaked but I did get a small hole at the bottom this year. I patched it. The only thing that is showing wear is the bottom of the liner from the chlorine.
Same for us! We had to take ours down this summer, after 4 years. There were mutplie pin holes in liner. We never had any issues other than that. We bought the newer version this summer. The verdict is still out if I like the new model...😉😉
Yes. It is the newer version of the Coleman Power Steel. It doesn't have the windows, and the outside of the liner looks cheap! And I assure you, it wasn't a cheap pool. 🤣🤣
@5MFamilyHomestead lol yeah I just seen your newer video, it does look cheaper, not a fan of the new look. I think the next pool I get will be the intex 24 foot ultra whatever it's called.
This would have been our third year using this same pool (well water) with a raised, packed sand pad and border and 3/4 of the leg bottoms have rusted completely through. The windows never leaked however, we will have to replace the frame for year three.
That is how long we got out of our pool before the legs did the same thing. We took it down this summer, but we bought the exact same one and plan on putting it up again.
this will be the 4 season with ours with windows and zero issues, i think a lot of those widow problem were because people were taking the pools down and folding the liner causing the window seals to crack
@@OurTopPinLife okay here winter is 4 month freezing But it should hold . How many year do you think it could last because here the price of coleman 18'x52" is 1300cad before tx If it handle at least 5 year that could be good but i dont know
@@angelorgya if you keep the pump drained, and the pool covered, the pool itself will last. The pump isn't designed to withstand those temps for that long.
Having had an inground pool in the early 80's, they are a ton of work. Ours was kidney shaped with a slide in the deep end. No diving board as it was only 15' in the deep end. Loved it but as I said, a TON of work. Wish I'd had a bottom sweeper like you've got. That would have been so handy.
Don't do salt water, that is what cause the legs to rust out, I was gonna go salt but a friend who did it said it cause the legs on his to rust really bad, so bad he had to replace a lot of them
Do you keep your pump running all the time? Or do you have a timer? I read (somewhere) that you have to keep the pump going non-stop. So i do. I haven't seen a change in the electric bill
No, as long as we have had the pool I only start the pump in the morning and turn the timer on. It runs 10 hours then shuts off. Not necessary to run the entire day.
We have owned to salt water systems and would never go with anything else. Very low maintenance ( salt bags) keeps the water absolutely crystal clear, so chemicals
We did salt water… our pool barely lasted two summers. The saltwater eroded our poles so bad it ended up making it not worth it for us. I know you mentioned having just a few spots on some of your poles this year, so just something to think about. Hope it helps.
Yes, I appreciate you sharing your experience. After this video I did some research, and found that with the steel frame pools saltwater isn't recommended. For the exact reason you mentioned. It is good to hear about an actual experience, that seals the deal for us!
Did you use pavers to set the pool legs on? If so, how did you prevent them from puncturing the liner? Did you use a pool pad? Thanks so much for your videos!
I did not add pavers under the legs. If you do you will need to find something that will go between the pavers/linear otherwise it will puncture it. I didn't use a pool pad. We just leveled the ground over several weeks, then added sand. Hope this helps!
@@OurTopPinLife Did you use sand? We are having our ground leveled tomorrow! I am finding mixed reviews about using sand. If you used sand, what depth? Thank you so much for your reply! We watched all your videos about this pool! Much appreciated!
How do the sides hold up? I remember when I was growing up we had a hard sided pool and we would climb over the sides instead of using the ladder. Has that been an issue with this type of pool?
I wouldn't recommend that. The linear is super durable, but not as durable as a hard sided pool. We have had the pool up for 2 straight years, and the linear is still in great shape.
I have always used my intex hoses and not the Coleman, so I am not sure if the Coleman hoses will fit the intex pump. You should be able to tell pretty quickly though.
Ive had ours up 4 years and literally nothing has happened. Its a little worn in a couple places but it’s going strong. Idk what was wrong but no windows have leaked either.
Yeah, ours never did either. We had to take ours down after 4 years, only because we had small pin holes in the liner. Which was my fault. Originally I would throw the chlorine powder to the middle of the pool. Over time it broke the liner down. I learned my lesson.
Hi! What filter was purchased? I tried looking through all the pool videos to see if it was linked anywhere in the description but didn’t find it and were planning on getting this pool soon.
I bought mine used, but I have always used an Intexr Sand Pump & Filter. A quick Google search asking what size sand filter will work with a xxx gallon pool. The right size pump for your size pool is crucial. Hope this helps!
Hello just bought this pool had my ground leveled 22foot in diameter is this big enough I’m thinking I should have had it done at least an extra foot or two it’s gonna be just big enough for the pool to fit into I’ll have no where to put the pavers ?
Yes, we went about a foot outside the diameter so we could add the pavers. I would put the pool up, and just dig out by hand around the pool for the pavers. Easier than having someone redo the leveling.
Try to use PVC pipe for Plumbing! I have a saltwater Fishtank and am redoing plumbing as my girlfriend asked me to get her a pool lol. She’s getting an Anally done smooth level base with a deck and diving board lmao. She has no idea what she has created. Long story short I’m using PVC pipe for plumbing lol
The pool doesn't come with a skimmer, but Intex makes one that is comparable with the pool. Amazon carries them. As far as the water return to the pump, it has 2 input holes. One is used for the skimmer if you purchase it. Hope this helps!
