The new exterior fan is much quieter than the stock fan but with both of them running side by side the airflow feels very close maybe slightly less airflow on the new fan. . I had both fans running full 12v power uninstalled and directing the airflow at my hand and face they felt similar to my surprise. I plan to swap the exterior fan on my original identical Coleman cooler due to how quiet the replacement fan is. I can likely leave my coolers inside the cabin now as they will not be as noisy. I doubt the replacement fan will have any issues properly cooling the heatsink. It’s running 6ft away as I type this owns it quiet. Just a faint hum of it spinning at 2200rpm.
The new interior fan is obviously much bigger so I can’t use the stock plastic cover. I might buy a 92mm case fan cover at some point but also will likely just keep the internal shelf divider close to the fan to protect it.
I also plan to use proper butt splice connectors w/ heat shrink.
I’ve only had it running 20mins now after fan replacement and it certainly is far quieter than the external fan it replaced. My stock fan Coleman is noticeably louder and there is a little more airflow but at an extreme noise penalty.
