Of course, this is quite an abbreviated little summary because Colette's life was far more involved and complicated than this. My biggest issue with this short bio is the computerized narrator (which is better than most). For someone like Colette -- use a human voice. Words are mispronounced, dates are read the way numbers in dates aren't read. I think Colette deserves better and the voice actors could use the work. My only question: never been answered -- did Colette ever consult or meet with the likes of Gertrude Stein, like so many artists and writers did in the '20s or was Colette already far ahead of all of them and didn't need their assistance? Was Gertrude even aware of Colette's notoriety and did she reach out to her or meet with her ever? I'm curious. Haven't found anything on the internet about it. I find it hard to believe these two women didn't know each other since they traveled in almost the same literary circles. Colette was only one year older than Gertrude so I am sure they knew some of the same people in Paris.

Why have an aural narration at all if it's going to be so distracting and ramshackle? Not a big enhancement to the brand...
