For some reason... when Popovich rests players for FAR more games than Lebron missed this year, it is good coaching but if Lebron rests its some big deal. He has played more in the playoffs, minutes and games, than almost any other player in the leagues history. It has less to do with this season, more to do with extending his career, which is totally fine. He only missed 8 games, but still was near the top in minutes played. The reason this is a story line is because people are just searching for something to hate on. I don't care if any player rests for less than 10% of a season if they have played more games in a 7 year span than anyone in league history, going to 6 straight finals. Now, if he was Melo and never makes the playoffs, let alone goes deep, then resting would be a totally different story, because he plays about 2 months of the year less than Lebron does.

gopalakartik gopalakartik I agree but you can't compare it to the Spurs. The Spurs are 6th in bench points and the Cavs are 28th. The problem came when he sat out televised games and not to mention Kyrie(24 yrs) sat a few out with him. I remember they had a back to back against the Clippers(televised) and Lakers. The big 3 all sat out the Clippers game but played against the Lakers. Lebron and Kyrie were on the sideline dancing and laughing. If you're going to rest than rest.

Connor Smith totally agree with the comment the man is already 32. Look what happened with Kobe after his injuries the guy wasn't the same dominant player like he use to. He was one of the most lethal scorers of all time when do you see those performances today!!! You won't see a dominant unique player like LeBron for a while or ever.

Connor Smith Jordan has 3 more rings, 3 more finals MVP's, about 5k more points, DPOY, 1 more MVP, about 800 more steals etc Kareem is the highest scoring player ever, top 5 in rebounds, most assists by a center, 3 more rings, 2 more MVPs. Magic has about 4k more assists, has 2 more rings, a winning record in the NBA finals. Nope, not top 3.

Lebron is stat stuffing, contributing to his franchise(s), successfully carrying the league for more than a decade (nationally/internationally), contributing to the community, consistently making NBA history yearly, enabling players around him the ability to shine and compete at a high level, no scandals, etc. Why all the hate? The benefit of the doubt would at least be adequate at best. Come on trolls!

Andrew Shaner I respect your position. I also marvel at what Westbrook does night in and night out (regular season or playoffs) and if he doesn't receive the MVP it's a travesty. I've witnessed The Dream and MJ in action. But Lebron is 2.0 and he's still going strong. He's still snapping records along the way and staying healthy (knock on wood). I gotta respect it.

Thanks Colin. Lebron is a legend already, what we want to see from Lebron now is how much he wants that pedestal that Jordan is sitting on. The league is more competitive, with a young wave ready to take over the likes of Paul George...not that we disrespect these great players but that there is a torch of talent beneath their feet and if they let up their time will be gone.

Why are we picking all the stats for LBJ against other players? If this is how we're going to discuss this... then... MJ 6 rings, LeBron 3... LeBron is great, I'm not saying he isn't... but you can't just pick the stats in your favor and ignore other stats that is also important to include within the conversation... Colin didn't used to be this biased... Nick Wright has really influenced him in a bad way... he's too 'stats' oriented... it's getting harder to watch

Lebron wins most consecutive games in the first round and Jordan lost three times in the first round: - "Michael Jordan had tougher competition, Lebron plays in the weakest east." Jordan goes 6 for 6 in the finals, but Lebron had way tougher finals competition: -"That doesn´t matter. 3 for 7"

This is why I watch the playoffs only. The regular season is just too long. That is where the NFL is better. Every game in the NFL is important cause they are all critical to seedings. Not every game in the NBA is significant.

The cavs are the same good on offense bad on Defense .LeBron is a beast but he was never a problem. They barely beat them every game when they should be winning by double digits at least 2 of those games. With that said they should at the least make it to the conference championship and likely the finals but I don't see them beating the team from the west

Lebron's playing the most minutes in the playoffs because he has to. They won 4 games by a total of 16 points. You can't blame these injuries on not taking rest. GS didn't lose the finals last year because they didn't rest. They were leading most of game 7 and lost by 5. That doesn't sound like a tired team.

You must be paid to not talk negatively about LeBron. Blake's injury and rondo's injury is not due to the long season. Steve kerr was hurt last season and his injury flared up this season which has nothing to do with the regular season. Stop reaching with LeBron. I will gladly school you on basketball. And as you said LeBron knows his body. Don't contradict yourself by sayin LeBron plays too much if he as you said "knows his body"
