@@DreamDetective I think we use it to feed the conversation, find a common link, establish a rapport. God forbid the conversation dies and we are left with a vacuum! Social suicide to nothing amusing to say 😂 Doesn’t everyone? I ask as a bemused Irish person.
As someone who lived in Ireland for a while I can tell you that it doesn't make much of a difference whether you're eavesdropping or that person is talking directly to you.
@@Cugirl I mean, it was just a joke. The Amalfi Coast is pretty incomparable to what you'd find in Ireland. That's not to say Ireland isn't beautiful though.
DALKEY is FANTASTIC! Amazing Book Festival, Bono lives there, as did Matt Damon during Covid… everyone left him alone. The Queens is fantastic pub, if you happen to visit ☘️
I don’t know why Colin is a friend in my head, I think it’s because my gut tells me he’s a good man. Also I could listen to Brendan talk All day, that voice is like whiskey on a cold night.
Elizabeth was at the spa in my hotel. I had to open a locker for her while pretending I don't know who she is. She didn't wear any make up and she is petite. And it was in Ireland.
I saw that movie when it came out & was REALLY impressed by her (understated - no Lucky Charms here) accent. Never try to be more Irish than the Irish themselves. It doesn't end well.
Oh it was more than half decent. I didn't know her as an actress at the time it came out and thought she was Irish. She nailed the Blackrock (middle class south side Dublin cuty) accent.
Awwwwn 🥰. You have got a great and beautiful expression. And thanks thanks 😊 so much for your unending support and sincerity!! Where are you watching from?
@@user-iw8ug8xj9g wow, you are also a very sweet person besides being an excellent actor, I have to thank you for being able to see you interpret or watch your movies. I'm Brazilian, the only thing I regret is not having watched all your movies, because there are some that I didn't have the opportunity to see.
🤩🤩💐🤗🤗👏👏👏 Mr. Graham you must be over the moon to have your friends/guests sitting in your parlour relaxing and at ease. This clip shows that everyone is listening and respecting each other and their yarns. Very comfortable with you too. Not to many hosts treat people with kindness even in your jokes pranks. So great to see The guests getting along so well We here know that there is a word for this but do not know how to 😢 the word - togetherness (commodery?) If anyone knows how to spell the word in (), pleases reply to this comment to help us with spelling of this word. Thanks so much. Blessings
I absolutely LOVE Colin.I've been a big fan of his for a long while.Brendan I've only see in Troy and The Village but I love him as well.If they are doing a vehicle together I've GOT to see it.
@@ColinFarrell_ I. Watching from Athens Greece I am not a huge fan as I have a life of my own BUT I am always interested in the few. Charismatic actors and follow them
By the way in my list are only two more and they are Urish the ones capable of changing their looks according to their role I wish Mr Farell goes on with a brilliant career as I admire him
Can someone please remind me of the AMAZING burger joint in Dublin just around the corner from farringtons? Went there every day in 2011!! Best ever chicken burger. It was like called Harry’s or something. Definitely in the temple bar area! Been dreaming about it ever since. Nothing here like it in Australia!!
Doesn’t do interviews really, he’s private, like Daniel Day Lewis. The anonymity allows them to play any role without the audience being able to have a public perception about their true self or personality.
@@LSDfeelfree I know he's a private person but he does interviews sometimes, not often but occasionally... And Graham is actually his friend. That's why I want him to be in his show...
Trying to get back. Love it when the Guarda say to me 'welcome home Deirdre'. I can reply! No longer care if I've a Cork accent, or a Belfast accent or a Dublin accent or whatever 'accent.
During the IRA's campaign in England it was responsible for at least 488 incidents causing 2,134 injuries and 115 deaths, including 56 civilians and 42 British soldiers
We’re everywhere, if you want your ear talked-off all night just make a reference to the village corner store in the small town we grew up. You’ll get block by block rundown of everyone we’re related to-by blood, by wedlock, or anywhere else in between.
I was in cancun, drinking with a group of people from Ireland, and can say that alcohol does not make the accent more intelligible, especially when they were speaking fast
I never heard that you can have an intelligible accent, we talk fast but we dont realise that we do because we never listen to ourselves when we are talking.
If only Father Ted were still alive. I want a Xmas special with Ted, Dougal, Norton and guest starring Farrel and Brendan (is that the bearded guy here? Haven’t heard of him before)
You have never heard of Brendan Gleeson? He has been in several major movies such as Troy with Brad Pitt, Braveheart with Mel Gibson, Gangs of New York with Leonardo Di Caprio,Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise and several Harry Potter movies including the Goblet of Fire. His son Donhnall is also an actor and like his father worked with both Tom Cruise and Leonardo Di Caprio in the movies "Run" and "The Revenant" respectfully. His son also starred in "Peter Rabbit" and "Unbroken" which was directed by Angela Joline. He has starred in some of the new Star Wars. He also starred in "Judge Dredd" with Karl Urban.
@@johnroche7541 ahh I think I remember him in Gangs Of New York. Was he the butcher character? And I’ve heard of his name before but couldn’t place the face for some reason. I think I remember him in Troy now too since you mention it. Was he the King? (Or whatever title the leader had. General? Not sure)
Knew she was gonna say Dalkey after Matt Damon was stuck there during Covid too. Expensive af area to live. Pronounced “Dawkey” with the ‘L’ being silent.
NO ENTENDI NADA DE LO QUE DICEN(UN MOTIVO DE SALUD)PERO A JUZGAR POR LA ANIMACION DEL GRUPO COMPRUEBO TU HABILIDAD PARA LLEVAR A CABO TU LABOR PERIODISTICA.GOOD! GRAHAM NORTON.
How did nobody correct her pronunciation of Dalkey in the 7months that she lived there and while on the show. It's pronounced Dawkey 😂 Also Colin asking for a sniff for old times sake was the perfect moment to cut the clip 😂😂😂😂
all my love to graham norton for publicly saying we should talk to trans people about trans issues, you deserve the world, graham, thank you for speaking against bigots
@@rebelraccoon9018 he said at the Cheltenham Literary Festival in England ‘If people want to shine a light on those issues - and I hope people do - talk to trans people, talk to the parents of trans kids, talk to doctors, talk to psychiatrists, talk to someone who can illuminate this in some way.’...... and it's relevant because the person in this clip and the person saying the quote are the same.... they're both called Graham Norton......do keep up.....
