It's not his original voice, that's for sure. But some actors pick up mannerisms from the roles they play. Like posture, gait, or small ticks. If you like it, or it is beneficial to you, why not? This guy picked up a new voice during his role. I think it is pretty obvious how this voice is beneficial to him. It's not just actors btw. I've made mannerisms that belonged to my partner, friend, or coworkers my own as well. Again, if I like it, why wouldn't I do it? I'll give credit where credit is due if asked about it. It's not that strange.

Years ago when I was young. My mom told me that I was sleep walking one night and my sister told me that I had void in my eyes and it scared her so much from then on.
