How poetically tragic. 3 years ago this guy 'took a knee' to protest police brutality against black men (which was in fact the first time I had ever heard of that action). 3 years later, a policeman brutally 'takes a knee' on the neck of a black man for 8 minutes 46 seconds. You can't make this stuff up.
Wasn’t on the neck, turns out overdose, maybe we should wait until the coroners notes come out and the full body cam footage instead of jumping to conclusions

It triggered people from both sides. Anybody that respects, was within, or had family and friends in the military got triggered by this big middle finger. It doesn't matter which political party they lean towards when they are all Americans sharing the same cause.

When Colin Kaepernick was taking a Knee for National Anthem and got all this backlash, this rally broke me and any hope for the USA. I am from Germany. I always get from Americans the question why we don’t show pride? Do we not have pride in what we have achieved? We did saw children together, injected them chemicals and made furniture from their bones. We try to learn from this. And the first lesson is, that pride is shown by action not symbols. We are always skeptical when someone is running around with a symbol to show his pride, but his actions undermine Human Dignity and the Constitution. There is a line between pride and blind nationalism. Kaepernicks action did not undermine the constitution, it did embrace it! May and American explain to me how his action was disrespectful, by demanding Human Dignity?
And Germans have remained the same fascist as in the 30's and 40's. Worst people I have encountered in Europe as an European myself. Also I thought at least you were brave, but the amount of cowardness you show in front of every shopping mall where by default young immigrant boys gather. You just lower your head and run like chicken. Of course you are very "brave" when you are taking a stand against Orthodox Christian Slavic european nations, like when you supported the bombing of Serbia in 1999 You disgust me
He is an opportunist and is actually very dumb when you hear him speak, that’s why he doesn’t talk much. This was at a time when he was benched for his performance and was replaced by a very bad QB, he protested shortly AFTER that. It was a very lucrative move for him, signing all kinds of deals and has some people actually compare him to Muhammad Ali, which is such a disrespect to that man
@likesfavorites3388tyranny is conditioning or forcing people blindly support a nation that they disagree with, it’s tyrannical to imprison people for people burning their own flags, it’s tyrannically to social punish people for protesting and kneeing for the anthem. The founding fathers wrote the first amendment to prevent tyranny or abuse of power from the government even though congress wanted to ban burnings of privately owned flags ironically doing what the founding father’s would’ve hated
I agree!! As a brazilian, i support him coz our system and the police sucks, kill us every single day. He is more than right!!!! At least he is a hero for us
bro he was a crappy quarterback so to stay famous he disrespected america then he cashed out on a bunch of brand deals, publicly shamed his parents and now people like him because of "police brutality." Give me a break. All organizations like BLM have ever done to America is disrespect it, divide it, and tear apart it's cities.
He believe in dooming america and they basically just hate america because somehow they feel marginalised and blaming somebody else for their own problem. FYI national anthem is ours too anybody should agree to honor it
I was in the infantry at the time this happened, and I couldn’t help but feel sad that my fellow soldiers didn’t see the point he was tryna make when he kneeled , they really took it personally instead of taking a step back and tryna understand Collins struggles/message and point of view they made him out to be disrespectful and ignorant ! We as Americans are turned against each other very easily, we can’t let the media paint the narrative
I respect your service, bro. But we need to quit talking about black people like they are oppressed. This guy a pro athlete with millions. How dare he talk about oppression. He has the right to do that, but I also have the right to think he is a haughty scumbag.
George Floyd couldn’t breathe from a police officer that kneeled on his neck. Colin kneeled in the National Anthem to protest police brutality... if this doesn’t get you in empathetical thought, I don’t know what will
b kelly, How is he a loser? He was kneeling to let everyone know that racism needs to be taken into action to be reduced. He didn’t cause any problems. He gave up his career to make sure millions knew equality and equity mattered. This was years ago. You are probably angry because you dislike the 49ers. That’s not the case here. Just chill. Keep your opinions to yourself.
I think people are absolutely ignorant to disagree with his protest. One of their claims is that “he is disrespecting the military”. If anything he is honor our military by using his right that was fought for by soldiers. In America we are supposed to be treated equally, have the same rights and equally justice, and if this is not shown in America all the time then what are we standing for? We’re are standing for a lie or what America “should be” instead or “what it is”. The sad and hard truth is that racism and injustice still exist in our country. So what’s wrong with a man risking his job and using his large platform to gain attention and to protest against the injustice in our country? I absolutely cannot find the wrong in this. *hint- this is coming from a veteran’s kid.

JimboParadox I disagree with that because it woll incite a cycle of murder of violence as police would become more cautious of civilians and civilians become more fearful of police. And not every cop is bad. Ive met some amazing people who also happened to be officers. What if those 5 officers Micah killed were genuinely good people who wanted to serve their community. Violence isnt the answer, reforming the police department and holding them accountable for their actions is what will make a change in our nation
JimboParadox we talk and we talk but no actually takes action. We protest but never try to create bills to change the police department. We dont lobby for bills to be laws. We dont vote for the people who would accurately represent us. In killing cops it only paints the picture that the BLM movement is nothing more than terrorist organization and it’ll create a stigma that when black people are upset that we’d rather use our fists and guns than our words and knowledge to make a change. An eye for an eye will only make the world blind
He did his part by disrespting the flag. By disrespecting the hard workers who serve their country. It’s unacceptable. He should have protested differently . Disrespecting all those people and his country is unjustified
When this very first happened I was angered. I thought he was disrespecting our country and our soldiers who fought and died for his right to be there. But as time passed I slowly began to understand why he did it, and now I realize how wrong I was. RIP to all those who died before their time unjustly at the hands of racism and oppression. Thanks for being brave and doing what you did that fateful day Mr. Kaepernick. You are a true legend.
WhoopzuhDooppzz You’re allowed to criticize him... but just know that your ignorance is why Collin had to kneel. I don’t know why people don’t understand that.
Only took a cop to knee on someone's throat to get the message. Yet there will still be people that somehow think kneeling during the national anthem is more offensive than murder. It's also known that kneeling in the military is a form of honoring falling soldiers as a sign of respect and by definition contradicts being disrespectful.

Why not acknowledge the non-Native genocide? killings such as the Iraq war where Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction. No we are not privileged in any way or form. Fred Casale um maybe because police brutality towards African Americans is a very real thing. A man was shot dead in his car with his daughter in it. For no reason.
