He should go to Utah. Statistically the best defensive team in the NBA past several years. Donavon Mitchell is AMAZING and future All-Star. AD with Mitchell, Gobert, Ingles, Korver, and an AMAZING coach, would instantly contend for title.

I agree to a degree but you have to look at it from a small market teams perspective. Why would you even bother trying to invest in your business product when you know that your dollar doesn't have the same value as a big market team in terms of ROI.

Not really. He is an MVP talent. If he stays with Pelicans for the next 6 years he will make $266M. If he leaves New Orleans and signs a max deal elsewhere he will make somewhat around $250M. It's not as big of a difference as general consensus thinks.

No one wants to watch James Harden flop around for 48min. Even when he's going on these scoring binges, watching him ISO is still boring. Even if GSW goes 82-0 and 16-0 in the playoffs, it would still be much more fun to watch because they play an exciting style of basketball.

@@Marlowe10100 I'm a Lebron fan but I still agree with you. Kyrie, Curry, Jordan, and Kobe had more flare to their game and are more visually entertaining. Acrobatics, handles, impossible 3s, etc are more exciting than brute force. However, Lebron has an individual legacy and narrative that makes his games more interesting than Harden, Kyrie, etc. Harden doesn't have the presence that Lebron does, or that Curry had in 2015-2016 where his presence and infectious game changed the NBA like few before.

I agree on leadership point, however, as much of a LeBron fanatic I am I think Colin is giving him too much on the whole “LeBrons behind the scenes in all the new reports” I think his presence is what’s attracting this and the media is pushing stories to keep it interesting. Lol Lebron won’t be 2nd fiddle to Anthony Davis in fact if AD is even on the same level of importance to Lebron I would be surprised. Because AD does not play as many minutes, he still gets hurt a lot, and it’s still a point guards league. Lebron is the best player in the nba still and he’s also a point guard.

I just hope that Pels owners put a stake in the ground, accept their losses and turn them into the win for Pels on the long run. Sit out Lakers offer. Just IGNORE it. Lakers have nothing that you can get (and more) from Boston, Dallas, Toronto, Nuggets, Philla, etc etc ... And most of them will give you the talent to build around. None of "Kooz, Zoo, BI, Josh... " is that caliber (well, maybe Ingram, but that looks like it's vanishing quickly courtesy of LBJ). AD has the right to do what he's doing, seems that LAL has that right too, and LBJ seems to have every right to do whatever he pleases... Pels might have some rights too... (those pesky contracts). I hope they use them.

What's unethical is when teams destroy careers like Isaiah Thomas', a man who got traded after giving everything for Boston and played after his sister died. Oh, another unethical move was when the Raptors promised Derozan he'll never get traded, only to get traded for a rental. Why aren't teams subjected to the same degree of loyalty expected from players?

If AD and his agent tell all other teams that AD will sign with LA and that he will be a 1 year rental,the best deal for NO will be with the Lakers.Boston is not going to give up a better deal than the Lakers for a 1 year rental.If I am NO I will ask for Kuzma,zubac,ingrand,Ball,Hart,2 first rounders and KCp (just to mess with the Lakers,because if LA give up KCP,they won't be able to get a 3rd max player free agent)

colin part of being a leader is taking second fiddle in certain situations A la Dwade in Miami he allowed LeBron to take over the team while still being the primary leader. It wasn't until the 3rd and 4th year or even until LeBron went back to Cleveland that he fully evolved into an alpha dog leader He can do the same with AD as he ages. Allow AD to be the best player on the team but still lead and close but slowly hand the reigns over

Colin, your logic is malfunctioning. You say "Dynasties" are good for the NBA and in the next sentence you say "Tanking" is bad for the NBA. Do you not recognize that teams tank because they CANNOT compete with the dynasties? They are directly correlated. For you to not address or understand this correlation is just bad journalism on your end. Just come out and say the NBA is bad because of dynasties. That is the truth. The NFL is number 1 because a team can turn around their fortunes in 1-3 seasons where in the NBA it takes much much longer. That is the cold truth.

In regards to the question about LeBron James giving Anthony Davis the the key in other words, I believe LeBron James is that much of a professional and his insight would permit him or allow him to do just that. Why it's not taking anything away from LeBron James, it would be like training a young Philly and letting them go all out and race and be the best they can and he would be The Supporting Cast. Even in basketball this is something called wisdom, insight.

This is about merging Klutch Sports and the Lakers. Klutch Sports will sign big name clients to represent and move them all to LA. This is a takeover of the Lakers and NBA through Lebron's agency Klutch Sports. This is a long term play. Not about this season.

If the Lakers Magic Johnson can pull this off, it would really be exciting to see and then come next season to acquire another player perimeter shooter like Klay Thompson I told you when I'm done, wow yes. Look at Golden State Warriors all the Superstar players they have, and then you have Curry. Without a doubt he is the leader of the Golden State Warriors but he can sit down and anytime and let the rest of the players play and come in instant right back in line as a finisher. The balance of the team The Supporting Cast would make it complete and competitive with one goal in my championship

How is tanking horrible for the NBA but one single player (LeBron) and his people ‘playing’ commissioner as well as GM and agent for multiple guys in this league a good thing? Everyone teaming up hurts the small market teams and pushes these teams to have to tank because they’re losing money with every year they’re a terrible team. Hence why they need to get the next big attraction like Zion. I don’t mind players going wherever they want but this tampering bs needs to stop. Image how many championships Jordan would have if he had teamed up with Ewing or Hakeem or Shaq.. much less 2 superstars. King Blames should wear number 32 because he is the anti Jordan. MJ was not the most talented (didnt make his hs team) had to work hard and put the team on his back when it was crunch time. Lebron was always the most talented and rarely came through in the clutch, had to team up with other players who could win him a ring.

stupidity at it's premium. if stars were on multiple teams... 1. less teams with losing records 2. more teams in playoff race 3. less teams losing purposefully not that hard. called parity.

@James Black tell that to the NFL outside of the historic Pats run it's essentially parity in sports at its finest and its the most popular sport in part because it's not like the NBA like it was in the early 90s.

James Black t 💀💀💀 the nfl the most entertaining league in the world, oh and it has the most parity. Unless you don’t like football then u love the nfl. Last time nba was fun for real was the 2000s, spurs and lakers battled for the west with the Mavs and suns always having a shot, the east had Lebron wit the cavs, the magic, the Celtics, and the heat gunning for it. Last time basketball was truly great and fun to watch. Western conference was fun for the first half of this decade but then the warriors came and the nba is an absolute bore fest

LeBron said himself that he would of gave the keys to Kyrie in Cleveland if he had never left. LeBron would definitely do the same to a better overall player in AD. Colin is saying he wouldn’t.
