And most shootings that qualify as a "mass shooting", which is IIRC 4 or more casualties, are gang related shootings done with hand guns. Something to remember: You dont always have to kill the other person to defend yourself or anyone else from them. Sometimes, just pointing a gun back at them is enough to get them to back down or even straight up flee. But sometimes, it isn't. Sometimes they make you shoot them because if you don't, they'll shoot you.

@Ross Hueysorry but cars do not have Infinite purposes. They are used to get from one point to the other and transport goods. Some people may even use them for fun. There are thousands of people whose lives have been saved at some point just have or having to legally use a firearm myself included. Also many people use them for recreation sport or shooting as well as hunting. There is far than more reason why to own a firearm. But to me the preservation of life in the time of need is the utmost reason that my car doesn't in that sense does not offer.
