I don’t care if you like rap or electronic music or metal or if you even don’t like music at all. Weathervanes by Jason Isbell is one of the best albums ever made in any genre in history of human kind
This was a great stream even if I couldn't stay for the first half hour or so lol. I'm surprised Silent Alarm got that far in the bracket! But Ten definitely deserved to win.
In their defense, it was executive meddling. No one wanted it but executives were like "Do it." Well, it was at least better than when Metallica collab'd with Lou Reed. @@jasonthayer1309
I agree with both Jon & Mark on The Arctic Monkeys Vote. Jon voting for AM over IDLES and Mark saying Favourite Worst Nightmare is a better album. BTW super happy it was shutout for RATM & Bloc Party. I remember buying CD for Silent Alarm and having it on repeat when I had a walkman. It's funny I got into Bloc Party the same way Jon did I heard the single Helicopter from the video game Burnout Revenge! I like these Coliseum videos!
A List Of The Most Cursed Brackets in the battle: •13:11 •36:55 (I Cannot stop laughing at this one). •49:56 •59:29 •1:12:58 •1:46:10 •1:59:38 (Also Cherry Pie Getting a Unanimous “👍” is truly hysterical but yeah both suck. Think I summoned the Devil by doing that.)
Bracket panned out really nicely :) I will say though, I think Is This It? might have just won the whole thing. I feel like a top debut should be so good that it almost eclipses an entire band’s discography, and we can say that for The Strokes. It’s unique greatness might have put it over Ten, where both albums are classics, but I can see someone prefer another PJ album whereas Is This It is the DEFINITIVE album.
For the Jason Isbell super chat the super chat did say Jason Isbell and the 400 unit so southeastern and something more then free don’t count so it’s 3 classic albums VS 3 classic albums
If you showed 50 and 60 year old dads this list and said who do you think would win they would either say Van Halen 1 or AFD by Guns and roses. And they would be confused how anything else on this list (besides Boston, Pearl Jam, Alice and chains and Black Sabbath) would even be considered as good as it.
So figured I'd pitch in (I have opinions on a lot, but these are the ones I think I can talk about the best) Blizzard Of Ozz VS High Voltage: High Voltage is sleazy, it's bluesy, it's rocking and fun, it's one of my favorite albums in rock history (while not perfect, I'm a sucker for it)... when it comes to Ozzy, I am MUCH more of a late 80's ozzy, give me Ultimate Sin and No More Tears ANY day over Blizzard or Diary, something about the songwriting, and also my love for Zakk's playing is phenomenal. Boston vs Appetite: Boston is a whole different vibe, Boston is the "driving to the beach with your girlfriend" album, whereas Appetite is "Sleazy biker who drinks and doesn't give a flying fuck"... It's a different vibe, ans personally I'm going to pick Appetite, strictly because of where I am at in my life right now (albeit I think UYI II more than Appetite). Now, personally I think not having Kill 'Em All in here is blasphemous as that is THE best debut of all time. Out of this group, I'm going to go with Van Halen I or Appetite, most likely VH I
Some debuts that y'all should have included: Jefferson Airplane: Surrealistic Pillow Pink Floyd: The Piper at the Gates of Dawn Nirvana: Bleach Peter Gabriel: Car Beastie Boys: Licensed to Ill Television: Marquee Moon Living Colour: Vivid REM: Murmur (seriously, why didn't you include this one?) Jimi Hendrix Experience: Are You Experienced Pretenders self-titled The Clash's self-titled The B-52''s self-titled Steely Dan: Can't Buy a Thrill
A similar thing happened with Your Favorite Weapon where it was originally taken off but it was put back on. I can't help but feel like whoever suggested Gorillaz wasted their money. Rare Rocked L
How about a worst albums by excellent bands tournament? That would be an interesting tournament, although I'm not sure how much you guys want to torture yourselves.
I think Pearl Jam is an overrated band that really only has one good album ten and imo that’s not even close to as good as dirt or nevermind. But Jermey is the best song and music video of the entire grunge scene. Every time I hear Jeremy I cry it may be the saddest song I ever heard. When I listen to Jeremy I get chills it’s the best vocals of the 90s, best music video of the 90s, best lyrics of the 90s fuck it it’s the best song of the 90s
Yeah, that’s my take on Pearl Jam. As a grunge/alternative band, they’re highly overrated and only have one truly good album. But, damn, that album has some good songs. I still think the Temple Of The Dog album is better though. When it comes to grunge, give me Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Nirvana any day over Pearl Jam.
@@Logan912 nevermind is just like otherworldly good for as amazing as dirt is Nevermind is 20 times better Like Nevermind on any list of top ten albums ever should be there and should be top ten on any list ever and that’s with one bad album and 2 12/10 albums
