Thank you so much. This explained very well. But I have a question. I had read about, collagen hasn't got cysteine or tryptophan amino acids. So if collagen lacks from cysteine amino acid how can it make disulfide bonding? Thank you for the video again.

Yes, mature collagen do not contain cysteine and tryptophan but procollagen has cysteine and tryptophan at the C- and N- terminal ends. Cysteine disulfide bridges and presence of larger side chain tryptophan makes C- and N-terminal bulges. These bulges are clipped off in the extracellular matrix by C-terminal pro-collagen propeptidase and N-terminal pro-collagen propeptidase to make a collagen molecule which will further undergo cross-linking process.

Can someone recommend a book to learn this subject, please? Edit: I'm using Lehninger , Gartner and one another called Junqueira and Carneiro. There's another good book?
