🤗loved the tip of making the clay really really thin and pre-baked so we can use the card making punches on it I was not sure if it would work but now I'm glad to find out it will thanks Lisa 🤗🤗

Thank you, Lisa! I learned a lot so inspired to work with clay and wonderful foil. I work with mosaic Italian glass and stain glass. However, I see a another artistic adventure in working with clay in the near future. So beautifully executed, it looks so effortless. But looks can be deceiving at times. LOL! So much fun.

Lisa love your tutorials. Quick story on how I found you and this wonderful world of polymer clay. I had signed up for a dichroic glass class at an art studio near where I live in Va. I do bead embroidered jewelry and soutache. The class was a little pricey for only 1 and 1/2 days. I decided to just google faux dichroic glass and as they say, the rest is history. I am now so immersed in the world of polymer clay and all it’s never ending possibilities I don’t know how I lived without it. I also purchased your book, “The complete book of polymer clay” and it has been so informative and inspirational. I love it. The one thing I do want to say about this video is there are areas where it would be better if the camera person would zoom in so we could see the detail of what you are talking about. Other than that great job and thanks for sharing

I would love if Fire Mountain would list the sizes of the bezels etc., in inches etc., instead of or along with the mm size. Most of us don't know what size a 40mm is. PLEASE

So in the beginning , the foil was already rolled onto some clay? I didn't understand. Thanks 🙂
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 7 лет назад
Yep! Lisa pre-added the foil to her polymer clay base before the video began.

Great tutorial, thank you. Has the formula for Magic Gloss changed? This looks a lot thicker than when I used it last.

Magic-Glos by Lisa Pavelka hasn't changed recently, but varying resin products will have different thicknesses.

Hello! This is very beautiful! Thank you for your help! I have a question, do I need to bake my peace? Bake together with bezel? And after bake I can put the magic gloss? Thank you for answer.
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 6 лет назад
Yep, you got it! Once you've got your piece together in the bezel, bake it and then once cooled you can apply Magic Glos. We have a video on Magic Glos here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-udZuNp28RTw.html Happy creating....

What kind of rainbow clay are you using?
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 4 года назад
Hi there. The rainbow effect is accomplished by using the skinner blend technique. Here's a link to a video that teaches how to do a skinner blend: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Slv85p96jE.html

Hi Lisa! I purchased some of your foils and stamps from Fire Mountain (dratted RU-vid for making me want to spend more money on clay!). I need to put Sculpy Gloss Glaze on my baked clay to resurrect the shine originally transferred with the mylar. Is that normal? Or am I doing something wrong in the bake. Thanks in advance, Beatrice
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 7 лет назад
Hi, Beatrice! (We're not Lisa.) We haven't had that happen for us, so we'd like to recreate it. Could you tell us what clay(s) you're using and what temperature you're baking them in?
@sophuzzy
@sophuzzy 7 лет назад
Fire Mountain Gems and Beads Fimo at 260-275 for one hour.
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 7 лет назад
Thanks, Beatrice! We'll need to experiment and see whether we can duplicate it, and provide some answers for you.
@FireMountainGems
@FireMountainGems 7 лет назад
Hello, Beatrice! We recreated your process but didn't have any dimming of the mylar foil. So we're a bit puzzled about your outcome. Your description sounds like the clay is burnt, however. Our packs of Fimo say that the clay should be baked at 230F/110C. Higher temperatures can cause the colors to turn brownish or burn. Our designers suggested that perhaps the shelf that the clay was on is too close to the heater coils, or that your oven is not measuring/regulating its temperature accurately. So there are some options for you to explore. Sorry we weren't able to give you a final answer :(
@sophuzzy
@sophuzzy 7 лет назад
Okay. I do have an oven thermometer in my toaster oven. It hardly gets to 275 even though it is new. I'm fairly sure I used Fimo because it is glossier than one of the other clays, and Sculpy III doesn't stand up to warm weather. I don't use AC, so the Sculpy III us very limp and sticks to the pasta machine rollers. Thanks.

There’s no such thing as scrap clay! It’s just clay that hasn’t found its design/purpose yet!
