I thought I was going crazy but there's actually 3 sequences for the Serpent's head puzzle, the one shown on the wall in the video, one on the ground of the puzzle itself and one in the south part of the narrows in the secret room that uses a key

so im actually having an issue, while i was discovering before starting this quest, i had accidentally gotten the 5th book. So now doing this i thought i would still have it but since i started the quest i just dont have it anymore, and on top of that im unable to unlock the chest again, anyone having the same issue and would know how to fix it?

I have the same problem, earlier at the start before doing all the quests I prefered to explore the area and unintentionally i did the puzzle, now i don't have the book and i can't complete the request. It only remains to comment the problem in hoyolab and wait for a solution.

there's 2 different puzzle combinations for the same puzzle. if you followed the sequence on the floor you'll get 1 chest. if you followed the sequence shown on the wall, you'll get another chest, and that chest gives the book

Follow it in order. Each symbol has numeral markings. 1 mark means first symbol wall to go to, and so on.

You have to find the shadow of the guy and talk to him. He'll give you the Ruin Guard's core to revive and fight it

I am having an issue- when i opened the secret base, i did everything as you, but after that i went to switch to evernight, but the secret base was gone when i got back. if you used the medallion things you got from that quest to open the room behind date, the book should be in the chest. i had already collected 3 of the books before starting this quest, and was able to complete it :) hope this helps!!
