Wonderful ! I am in my 60’s and a recent convert to modern minis after a lifetime of Jaguars an BMWs . Now I have a Clubman Cooper S and a Clubman diesel both high spec , plus a 5 door Cooper SD to keep in Italy and my wife has a 5 door Cooper D . So we have gone completely Mini mad and really love them 😀
Ooh Mini's 😁 Fantastic video. Thanks Pete 😍 They look so perfect being fully dechromed. I will never forget the collection of my F56 Cooper S in March. It wasn't under a cover and so I saw it ready for me to drive it out of the showroom. It's a black car with black wheels but all I saw was it's front end with its huge chrome eyes, wide chrome 'mouth' and then the 'belt line' which I didn't know the name of and it just resembled a zip which looked very awkward and so I actually felt quite disappointed at my collection. Thankfully I bought the black grille surround and belt line tape, and my Hubster fitted them ASAP as I collected the car on our first Covid-19 lockdown date so had the time for it..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR PETE!!! Fantastic and special video! So cool that you were able to be apart of this and help make it a memorable day. I do appreciate your dedication to your fans and followers Sir Pete! Those minis were very cool! I liked the silver one best
Very cool 😎!! ❤️the original mini Pete👍🏻. Very nice of you to spend your time making their day extra special mate. 👊🏻 to Ellis what an epic car and all round great mate 👏🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
Great video mate, great to see you in a very familiar place ;-) Some seriously special Mini's, I need to get myself a Mini one day! See you on Friday mate!
Joe scratches his head and thinks. "How come Pete's there and not me!!??" :-((... And then he thinks again. "But then... It's not a REAL BMW... Is it?" :-))... EDIT - What's happening Friday? Promise I won't say anything ;-))...
Absolutely love both of the new Mini's, but had I been taking delivery I would have said "I'll be living with the new car, let me spend this time with the original!" Seeing these side-by-side shows folks that may not have spent such time with an original how truly MINI they were.
What a collection of MINI. Lucky family and lucky owner of the original tribute car. Plus a celebrity at hand over, aka Mr Ped, to round things off. Nice mate, nice.
Pete the Ped, the luckiest man going and before anyone has a go, I know he works very hard at what he does. As Confucius said “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life,” well done Pete.
Stunning all 3 of them . A drive in the classic would be especially amazing . Great video loved this 👏. Hope the proud new owners had a good drive home .
The wife would love this video but I ain't showing her as she will want one! Special experience for that family made all the better by your good self! Nice one!
Great cars, Paddy is one of our Patrons at Kop Hill Climb and always supports us for the weekend, not just popping in for an hour. But, I did look at the new tribute and couldn't help but feel underwhelmed. However if you area collector of Mini's, and/or Irish then I see the attraction. Now if you merged the two, getting the looks and the performance. :) Good job tho' :)
On our daily walk the other day and saw a modern red PH Mini. Said to the Mrs I recognise that car - checked this vid out again and it’s this one! Looks great in the flesh!
Well done Pete another amazing clip I'd still want the original mini I love them all but not long now until I get my mobility mini clubman excited at 50 can't wait stay safe Pedro 😷🐾🐾🐾🐾
Hi Ped - Great video, what can you say, Paddy Hopkirk, a legend from N Ireland and what a great tribute to him with these amazing cars. Good luck to the people who bought both cars, happy motoring.
Nice cars. My mum used to work for Paddy at Mill Accessory Group and said she would sometimes sign off on Paddy’s behalf. Good thing she didn’t sign those cars, “Margaret” doesn’t quite have quite the same ring... bought a mini for my wife, it had so many flaws they replaced the entire (brand new) car in under 24 hours. They couldn’t understand why I couldn’t stop laughing when they proudly said it was built at Longbridge... a major cause of BL’s demise in the 1970’s...
Now that's beefing up my breakfast! Nicely done. Tribute for the week, replica for the weekend. DT? trackday!! Collecting a car is always a wonderful moment for a car enthousiast. Love the combo of grey with black roof, wheels...
Nice video! That DT looks amazing. Can't believe how small the original mini looks in comparison. I was on the fence about decrhroming my belt line/handles on my chilli red f56, as have all other trims bar fuel cap- might be calling my car dealer tomorrow after seeing this video 😂👀👍
Nice cars. Only recently I started to like Mini Coopers. A bit because you though and because of a friend back in Madeira with a r53 that did an amazing job with his.
I've driven the Original Monte Carlo Mini Cooper S 😁 I had the pleasure of taking that plus a couple of other Historic vehicles our around a private track in B'ham belonging to the Heritage centre years ago as a favour to me by Jim Smith. It took a little nagging but I drove that and the Racing XJ and the SS1 out in private all on my own. The Mini was a dream if a little tight because it still had all the Rally Equipment in it.
You have clearly made some people very happy! I think I would want the red ones first..BOTH of them!...and then the silver one for day three! I was surprised to see the “37” on a Factory car as I thought it was incorrect to show competition numbers on a road car which was not taking part in an organised Event? Maybe they have relaxed that rule but I have not read that. There is currently a 1963 Speedwell Mini Super (not Cooper!) for sale after a total restoration and it looks really nice plus bring super rare. At £29995 it looks worth the money as well. Now if I was not buying a house next week and had a garage big enough for it then I might have considered that! Give me 6 months and the situation changes so maybe a new Cooper S might suit Mrs HQB.....😉😀😀😀 Stay safe! Richard 😃😃😃😃
Great Video. Been a fan of the channel for a while now and love the Mini content. I know just how they feel, as I’ve just picked up my new F54 JCW. ( purchased after watching your reviews) it’s an amazing car, Mini are turning out some fantastic models.
My first car was a 1961 Morris 850 Mini done up rally style with a bright red paint job and white roundels. Was not as fast as the Cooper S but still couldn't wipe the smile off the passengers face after the experience of not lifting for the corner(s).
Hi Pete I usually say what a great video mate but not this time that was a lovely video how nice was that.... wow two stunning cars 🚗 I loved the Red one first until I seen the gray one wit some little tweaks 👍👍👍👍👍
DT edition: looks so good with the drop, and exhaust sounds great. Love the Paddy Hopkirk edition, but just one bonnet stripe would annoy me. 😂 But that classic is just stunning. 😍
Hey! Pete. I was looking on Auto Trader yesterday. The JCW Mini Clubman that you have, is now available with the digital dash :-))... Awesome video. Great to see some Scotsmen spending money too :-))...
Lovely Cars. That classic is outstanding mind not that the F series twins are shabby. Really like the modern take on the PH F56, lots of nice little touches.
Hey Ped. Great video as ever. Looks like a great day out. Love the the original Paddy Hopkirk original replica! Of the new ones, i would have the DT. The new Paddy I'm a bit underwhelmed by. Looks like a standard Cooper S with some badges, stickers, and a fancy steering wheel. Maybe it looks better in person.
The DT is so close in colour to my JCW except I have a red roof and Pro Exhaust so dont need to be too jealous for a change but as a pair of cars they are awesome and a sight to behold on the drive back North. I was going to get the driving spots and union jack rears fitted to mine on Wednesday when it gets serviced but Mini want £1500 for parts and fit so have put that on hold for now.
Just wondering if you had Charlie or Ruby there to show them? Awesome video, I really love to see the videos about Mini’s. I can really see the passion you have for them!
Whats going on with the gearstick in the original 1 of 4 replica?! Regardless, each one of them are amazing. Love the fact they notice the embossed 33EJB straight away! I need a DT in my life - that’s looks and sounds amazing (and Ellis’s HF jacket!!)
A great tribute to the great PH. unfortunately your Mini enthusiasm is costing us all money, my son was happy with his 15 plate Cooper, until I introduced him to your vids, He's now just upgraded to an 17 plate JWC, and what a car that is. Not bad for a 19 year old.!!!!!
