First impressions for me was “that’s not a Mini”. Totally different design to what I’m used to. Paint colours make a difference to the look as well. However after watching this video I want one!
A combined 39.6mpg with 3.8 miles per kWh is very poor. Many cars could do that journey with either 39.6mpg of petrol or 3.8 miles per kWh of electricity... not both. Maybe I don't understand how the trip computer works but you would think as you've plugged it in the mpg figure would be way higher, but it's no better than a normal petrol car that hasn't been plugged in.
Meh. Boring and laggy below 7k rpm. Too loud, and the noise doesn't correspond with the performance. Needs to be hammered to be fun. A keeper for me, but I expected craziness.
F56 was widely criticised when launched. The Mini traditionalists said it was too big, had awkward front overhangs and overly large rear lights .It’s funny how time changes perceptions.
I test drove an F66 electric Cooper. I absolutely loved it. I loved how the interior harked back to the extremely old Minis with just the centre dial and the row of switches including the starter one which turns just like a key. I loved the chunky steering wheel, it was just a beautiful car. It made sense for me to try the electric seeing as that is what I am currently driving. The one thing I didn't like was they've done away with the iDrive so everything is controlled on the touch screen. I use the iDrive dial in my Cooper SE all the time rather than the touch screen so I missed it. I was really pleased with the fabric as opposed to leather too.
I'm confused, I watched a video yesterday (midweek 180) and you had a new car delivered to replace this car (a countryman JCW) I commented that your new car was older than this one yet here you are posting content saying it was only dropped off a few days ago, what's going on? or am I losing the plot?
Great video Pete. We did the castle and as you said its an incredible view. The roads around the ring are just as good as the ring itself. Great food, Great beer, Great roads and cars. What more would you want 😂. That little mini looked epic.
I was incredibly worried that the F66 would only be offered as an EV. I am estatic that they are offering an ICE version. I bought an F54 JCW like Charlie just anticipating the death of the ICE mini. But it is incredible to have a smaller sized cooper that is potentially lighter than my old F56. Great stuff!
