Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I think your technique is the best i have seen so far whereby posibility of harming the tree is quite low, particularly using pine resin to closing the wound is a brilliant idea.

Done this myself last week myself, but like your less invasive technique way better. Learnt something new today. Thanks for sharing. Would you perhaps do a video sometime in the future on the river cattails, roots etc best time to forage them and so on? Many Thanks P

Great video, very informative. I'm wondering, apart from Birch, Maple and Walnut, are there any other species of tree in the UK that can be harvested for edible sap? Is there a comprehensive list?

Really lovely video and something I've been doing lately. Do you know how much we can drink at once?
@UKWILDCRAFTS
@UKWILDCRAFTS 3 года назад
Thanks 😊. I’m not sure how much we can drink, I’m sure it wouldn’t be toxic to consume a few litres a day. Just no more than a few litres per tree

Does the tree need to a certain age to get sap
@UKWILDCRAFTS
@UKWILDCRAFTS 4 года назад
As long as it's not a sapling it's fine. I find the older and thicker the trunk, the better the yield

Why my birch sap is brown?

Ah yeah that can happen, normally if it’s brown after a half litre or so it clears up
