Nice Monster 1200S. Sales rep forgot to mention the Evotech exhaust hanger blanking kit. Also, since the goodies were a package deal, I would have also got the Olins steering damper. I think it is in the top 3 got to haves, along with the Termignoni's and bar end mirrors. Love this channel !

Hi mate. Is there any better feeling than picking up a new bike? Even on a cold snowy day it’s great. Wash the salt dust off before you put her away, give her a dry off, start putting your little bits and pieces on. Very satisfying feeling. My fave bike, never ridden one but just love the look..sound. The dash is amazing.....glad you got rid of the only ugly bit, the hideous or number plate holder. I shall have one one day, one day. Enjoy.

Picked up my Monster R 6th of Jan, but had a really difficult time picking between the S & R model. Here in AUS the R is not a demo model, so it was a gamble. But it was only $2.5K AUD more in cost, for more torque, HP, Marchesini rims & those beautiful "Superleggera" footpegs. I have to say, if your pipes are only slip-ons, do everything you can to get the mapping changed to the full system. It has totally changed my whole bike. More torque, more HP, but best of all its the engine that seems to run so much smoother with the full system. I am absolutely gob smacked at what a full system has done to the bike. Ducati won't let you change mapping until you run the bike in (1000km/600mi). After I ran it in, the full system went on, but still had run in to go until 2500km (up to 7K revs, as the manual says). This week (16th Mar) I reached the 2.5k km mark. I gave it 10k revs in second, & in about 2 secs i was blasting past 145 km/h!!! Instant torque factor there!!! In the run-in period 6k revs comes up really quickly, and you feel you need to rev more. But once the full system went on, I found no reason to go past 7k revs!!! It is simply insane what the mapping has done to the bike. I cannot stress to you how good it is on the monster! If you love your S now, you will wet your pants once the full system is on. Another thing, I've found a brilliantly cheap Carbon Fibre shop in the US. Really cheap, but great quality. go to: slingshotracing.net and commence drooling! Type in Monster 1200 S on the left hand side about half way down. All the delicious parts at ridiculously low prices. The quality is superb. The headlight carbon part & the coolant cover on the right-hand are simply stunning. You can purchase all parts in either gloss or matt finish. Enjoy the Monster! She looks a treat! Hi mate, thanks for the comment, I’ve only gone for the end cans at the moment and the bike has been re mapped already, it was a lot more money to add the header pipes too, and I was at my max spend already! Looking forward to getting her run in too so I can give her full beans! It’s snowing here again so will not be getting the bike out anytime soon, and I’ll checkout that carbon supplier too as may want to add some more parts at some point, cheers, GMAN 🍺
Think I would have had it delivered. Not worth getting it dirty on winter roads, new bike, cold tyres, slippy roads...... there may be trouble ahead! Sod that, deliver it to my nice warm garage. Lovely bike, basically same spec as the last version of the R isn't it? Great looking bike.
That was the only day I was around to get the bike, roads were dry so not too bad, The R model has a bit more power and sits slightly higher and better on track, it doesn’t have cornering ABS or a down blipper either 😜
Cheers Scott, loads of salt around on the roads but pretty much dry, will get her out of the garage in the morning and give her a quick wash and blow dry on her under body 😜
What a loverly looking bike one of the nicest monsters out there the mods are just enough sets the bike off a treat and it sounds spot on hope you enjoy your new toy and looking forward to some more if your great vids keep safe

A great video! I love the sound of that exhaust. I have a Multistrada with about the same engine. I bet it's even nicer on a naked bike 60 kg lighter. I hope you warmed up by now.
Superb bike and love the little extras you’ve put on. On mine it went into neutral much better after 500 miles or so- at first it wouldn’t play ball at all stationery. Enjoy!

Cheers mate, was only an 8mile ride home so not too bad, soon thawed out once home, temperature was 9 degrees higher today than when I got my bike so atleast all the snow has gone 👍

Lovely bike! I really like the 1200s. Often ignored compared to the Superduke etc... but it was a total animal. Not so sure about 'making it your own' with a bunch of bits straight from the Ducati brochure. Still, looks great!

@@GMANS_BIKES_CARS the suspension option is tailored more for track riders. Sure a panigale is fine for street application, track for a novice too. Panigale S&R are more for highly experienced track riders. I get that they try to market varients of the diavel. Carbon, titanium etc. But you need to ask yourself do I need it? 9/10 times the answer is no. I see the point on a panigale(if tracked, IF) , not a diavel.

@@GMANS_BIKES_CARS Alright, thanks! Ever since I test rode the -18 Monster 1200s (in traffic and on track) I have been in love. It turned me from being a Ducati maintenance skeptic to being almost sure I will own one once I have the funds for it.
Lol I used to call it a day at 5 DegC and remember doing 70 miles at -5, worst journey ever. These days I lay up in November as for some inexplicable reason people forget how to drive from nov-march.

Hey buddy, if you are going on track then I’d go for the V2 but in Pretty much Every other way the monster is better, for example it’s - Faster, more comfortable, better quality suspension, monster doesn’t cook your legs and ass, but saying that the V2 does look amazing 🤔 good luck choosing 😜

I’d go on a few short distance rides for a couple hours tops around the country roads etc. And daily for just local errands and stuff around the suburbs. I was actually initially gonna grab the monster, but being in the same price category for me, I’ve seriously started considering the Panigale v2. It’s the latest model vs the monster 1200 has had the same model pretty much since 2017. The monster looks good but man the v2 is just on another level. Plus I figured being 30, I’d prob avoid supersports in a few years due to ergonomics, maybe I can enjoy the supersport style for a little now haha. Would you say the v2 really isn’t a daily bike or a road bike? Is it that tough to live with? Also I thought it’s faster than the monster at 155hp?
My monster did feel faster but that perhaps because it has no fairing but I’m sure it also has more torque low down I’m not sure, as you are a lot younger than me mate I’d then go for the V2 as when you get to my age you will not want to be hunched over any bike unless it’s upright 🤣

Now some barend Highsider mirrors on the low side and it's more beasty. Great bike only when you sit on it the framesliders hit constantly you knees..... very annoying. Did three testrides on the S and the R, but my SD is way more fun and ergomics are way more better. Wish you a lot of fun 😁 ..... The 100 Hp setting is a waste of money 😁
Hey buddy, I find the Monster fits me better than the SD, but my Bro loves his SD, my knees have no issues as I’m not that tall, may change the mirrors as bro has highsider ones on his SD, I will never use the 100hp mode again unless I’m in bad weather, I guess buying a bike is a personal choice and it’s what fits and suits your specific needs at the end of the day 👍
Congrats on the new bike. I have a monster 821 stripe. Can you get a 1200 stripe. Might like to change up but I love the white stripe with the red paint.
It’s a great bike and took it to Spain to ride it hard in the mountains and it was amazing! Hi Dale, only had a short ride home but was colder than I thought, also could only find one of my winter gloves, will only be riding the Ducati in nice weather so will not be fitting heated grips as will use the Africa Twin in bad weather! Cheers, GMAN 🍺
Nice bike. Only quibble is that if you're paying nearly 15k for a bike and it doesn't go into neutral when stopped then it's a design flaw. I'd expect that on a 125 but it's annoying on an expensive brand bike.
