That's an impressive collection. Here are two suggestions for your Shakespeare titles: You should consider Polanski's adaptation of Macbeth and the recently released Zeffirelli film, Romeo and Juliet. In the case of Romeo and Juliet, I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. Regarding your art-house films, you might want to try Tarkovsky's film, Mirror. It's different but quickly became one of my all-time favorite movies. I would also strongly recommend the Bergman film, Persona.
Thanks for the recs, Rob! Mirror is one I’ve been meaning to get as I believe it’s one of - or the only - Tarkovsky film I’m missing right now. And I absolutely need to see more Bergman. I want to grab the box set of his eventually but want to watch a few more of his before I do. Thanks again for all the recs!
Just found your channel as I have also just posted a video of my Criterion Collection. Glad to see you have the Basil Dearden Eclipse set and good to see some titles I don’t have (although I do have quite a few of the same movies that are just not Criterion releases) Have now subscribed
Excellent! Thanks for being here. I just added your collection tour to my watch later, so I will give that a look this weekend. Thanks for subbing, and welcome!
Fantastic collection! I just need to finally pick up Carnival of Souls, it’s been on my list forever. Loving all the Chaplin films and the Jean Arthur shout out! I need to look into Jubal, I’m not familiar with that film. Make Way For Tomorrow still stuns me. So good! Loved this video and seeing your Criterion collection.
Thanks, Jon! I actually just watched your collection tour last night, but it was like 2:30 AN so I didn’t end up commenting. I’ll do that now for the ol’ algorithm, haha! But I loved seeing your collection as well. I really think you’d dig Jubal if you check it out. Excellent western. Thanks so much!
