the "weird aunt" defense is worse when you consider the fact that the main joke of the book she wrote is about a creepy uncle

You know. Actually if you put this in the context of children her apology makes perfect sense. Make something catchy, claim you didn't do it and don't go in to detail about the bad. She's still trying to groom kids with her apology, it's insane. The apology isn't for adults, she's talking to us like we're kindergarteners.

I was thinking the same thing, but, now I think it's something more sinister. It's a song, her song, and she's copyright claiming videos with the song so that she gets the revenue from it. So, it seems like she either wanted to make a big pile of money before quitting if it went viral, or she wanted to silence her critics by getting the videos removed if it didn't.
@meifennellysieu7510

Update: there are a lot of adults that apparently believe her. Many of those who do will cite only her wording in the video, rather than any outside sources, leading me to believe that some fans are not even looking into the exact allegations or doing independent research.

Ah, some people may not know that "fart joke" in her song. She only calls skimpy dressed little girls on stage in her tours in order to slut shame them (incentivising little girls to qear revealing clothes just so they will be called on stage by their favourite RU-vidr). One of the girls Coleen called on stage (who wore skimpy dress just to get noticed by Coleen) was told to lay down on stage to do yoga. As soon as she layed down, Coleen pulled up her legs and dress revealed the girl's underwear. Colleen played fart noises in background. The girl reported that after she got off the stage a lot of grown men in crowd started to follow her and she felt unsafe in going to ger car. Even on stage, she felt violated and exposed. This was a minor, everyone. A little girl. This was a simple "fart joke" to Colleen.

When people started pointing out what exactly was wrong with her messages and stuff like that, I realized that they were very similar to conversations I had been having with an adult friend. Honestly the how he switched paces during the song really stimulates the how absolutely horrifying child abusers/molesters are, and the little so called "breakdown" after it with the aunt asking when this "nightmare" will end also kind of implies that she was naive, which most molesters/abusers are. And no it does not at ANY scenario justify their actions but it does give an upper hand on the what needs to be worked on that person. Aside that the lyrics and tone shift where astonishing regardless the whole song being a parody, I honestly am impressed.
@chuckmcluckin6082
@chuckmcluckin6082 10 месяцев назад
Exactly! I was coming down to say that Ryan's tendency throughout the song to become aggressive and accuse the victims of betraying his trust somehow, really is an accurate portrayal of the way predators - especially groomers - behave. "Why would you tell your mom on me, when I thought all we were doing was joking around and being silly?" is 100% the stance somebody would take, and for a lot of kids who are in the thick of it, it'd even work for a while.

Edit: I didn't think I'd have to clarify, but yeah, the allegations are also bad, but that's a completely different story. There's making a cringey "apology" video in response to the allegations, and then there's the actual allegations of her sexual misconduct with a minor. It was art in every fashion of the word. I was genuinely moved by your own movement, I gasped when you broke the ukulele, I was left speechless by the bold red lip that shined from the teal background. Everything was so intentional. when my "Weird Aunt" mother (if you catch my drift) asked me what she had to do to be forgiven for what she did to me, i said she needed to take accountability for her actions by turning herself in. obviously she didn't do that, and neither will colleen.
@TheProletariat321
@TheProletariat321 9 месяцев назад
What she wanted from you by asking that, is to simply forgive her. She knows what she should do. And if she wanted to, she'd have already turned herself in. She tried to make you pity her so you'll forgive her. She knew that what she did to you was wrong, but she still did it because it doesn't matter to her how it will literally permanently destroy you physically and mentally. My mom didn't seggsually abuse me, but I can still relate although not to the same extent. She beat and berated me often, and becomes threatening when I question her beliefs. She's a right wing Christian conservative who is generally a piece of shit. I'm a closeted trans man, and she finds great importance with me acting like a proper Lady. She spouts the loving words of jesus, while thinking people of colour, queer and trans people are inferior to her. It hurts me being forced to spend time with her. But she doesn't see children as real people who deserve respect. And as long as I'm not 18, she can make me do whatever she wants. I do not like physical contact from my parents. But they don't care, my parents will hug and kiss me even when I tell them to stop. My right to give consent doesnt matter to them. My feelings don't matter as long as I'm still a child. I can't dress and act the way I like, because thats not the way a girl should be. I have a friend, who'se parents allow her to dress howether she wants. My mother thinks that her mom is forcing her daughter to be like a boy, when she's too young for that. But forcing me to be a girl when I am not, is appearantly ok? "Until you are an adult, I'm allowed to do whatever I want with you". Queer people are sexualizing children, but my family making sexual jokes about my big chest is totally ok and not dehumanizing. She wants to dictate how I look, depending on what other boys want. I am only 14 years old, but I should shave my Private parts because boys don't like it to be hairy. I hate my parents, I wish I could be an adult so my parents will never be allowed to dictate what I do, and what I can and can't be. My parents tell me they only want to make me happy, but their actions already give away their bullshit. They would never allow me to be happy if I told them what I wanted. They claim they love me, but if I opened up to them, I'd be dead to them. Every time I tell them how much they hurt me, they get offended because I'm just trying to hurt their precious feelings. My mom apologises so many times, but she makes the same mistake again. I forgived her, SO MANY TIMES. But I only just realised that she used her tears to make me pity her and forgive her, Even if she doesn't realise what she's doing. I genuinely hate her. I will never forgive her. When I grow up, I'll leave and never look back. I do not care how it will make my family feel. They have hurt me more than I can count and will continue to do it for 4 more years. My school friends will make these years at least a bit more bearable (I hope).

I think something people are really glossing over is the high intensity of the language she's using in this song. Lines like "I won't survive the crash" or "the person on the tracks didn't deserve to die" are INSANE to throw in and do a lot to paint her as the innocent victim of the situation. It's obvious how doing this makes out the people who are accusing her into the bad ones, not her. I feel like you could analyze this video for hours and still not find every piece of vile shit she threw into it
@singularity___
@singularity___ 11 месяцев назад
I found these lines particularly heinous and manipulative. Made me mad when I heard it, it seemed like she was implying "if I do something to myself it's because you all drove me to it", like a partner threatening to kill themselves if they get left. Absolutely horrific and atrocious behavior.
@seren8317
@seren8317 11 месяцев назад
@singularity___ this is immediately what I picked up on when I first watched the video, and I've been surprised how few people talk about it. Maybe it's just because I have personal experience with a person in my life threatening self harm and suicide, but the constant allusions to her own death and dying seem like such a clear manipulation tactic. There's no purpose other than to make others think she might hurt herself as a result of victims coming forward. It's so upsetting.
@NoOneSpecific365

So glad other people picked up on this as well. Using the veiled threat of unaliving herself is so manipulative, especially combined with her performative self-effacing humor. Though to be fair, there's just so much heinous garbage to parse though, if you touched on every single piece you'd probably end up with a 5 hour dissertation.

The intro is Marvel level quality. I wouldn't be surprised. Even the acting is insane in that intro. Great job with the video. Your parody song is better in every way than her actual song.

I was told to watch this on reddit, and yessss everything about this video is everything you need to know about colleen and her "apology" ukelele video. Your portrayal of her is spot on 💯

13:56 - "It's easier to live in ukulele la la land." Don't you mean... ukulala land? Okay, I'll see myself out. Also, the bit at the end? Goosebumps. What a masterpiece. 👏👏👏 Take notes, Colleen.

The part hurts the most is I looked up to her as a kid, only to figure out she’s actually a really bad person. Thank goodness I was too broke to afford to go to one of her shows 💀

@thecrazians157 8 giving you actual good advice so you wont make an apology video about how you didnt groom kids but you actually did and that everyone is toxic because she got called out, in the form of a ukelele song. For 30 cents (:

I was curious, after the Sienna Mae interpretive dance response, if that spectacle could ever be outdone. I was not adequately prepared for Colleen and her dang ukelele to come and dethrone that God- awful display. And YOU, again, did not disappoint, Sir. Edit: AND you worked Radiohead into this?? 😮

And in the last video I watched OP said he wasn't feeling "creatively fulfilled"... Now I see what he meant after that ukelele song parody with the dramatic dimily lit dancing art house performance at the end, with the smashing of the instrument and lipstick smearing... My partner had to point out the orchestral music was Radio Head's "Creep" 💀 Colleen could never live up to such strong performing.
