I found your account at 2 AM last night and clicked through your videos till 6 AM and it literally inspired me to change my aspects on life. Everyone has potential to stand out and do something different that changes how the world sees you. All it takes is for you to take initiative and stick with it. You could just be any ordinary OSU student but instead you are JMontage. So starting today I am no longer just another brick in the wall. I'm really not as weird as this comment makes me sound but for some reason your drive in life is contagious!!!

addendum: I didn't talk about the Honors program vs. the Scholars program but that's kind of my point. I don't think you get nearly the same benefits or experience from doing scholars. Scholars can be great! It may be for you!!! But if I had to choose again, I would choose honors 1000%. Hope this helped :)

Great topic for this video! This is definitely something that I couldn't decide on when I was applying to OSU haha. I'm sure it will help a lot of incoming freshman with making the right decision. Quality is on point as always bro!

scholars is much better out of the classroom enrichment which I'm grateful for, especially as a freshman, but you're right about it doesn't give you the same benefits in the academic sense(ie. scheduling and the like), so catch me applying for honors for next year lol

I just started my first classes at a community college here in Los Angeles, I’m taking English 101 and history 011 and they sent me a letter from the school saying I’ve been nominated to the honors program “because of my grades” we only started about 3 weeks ago , and the email also says “you will walk away with a full time schedule (15 units)” but I have a full time job.

Ok, so I got into OSU and plan on majoring in physics. If I'm not in the Honors College can I still take the honors physics and math classes?

One of my friends did something like that, but I'm not sure how it works exactly. Especially because all the honors classes will fill up when honors kids schedule their classes (which is way before non-honors students do)

The honors dorms aren’t necessarily the nicest dorms but I would highly recommend them because it’s very important to be around people in your classes. I didn’t have this and wish I had.

I think that your videos would be better if when you talk you turn the volume of the music a little more, I just have a hard time hearing you talk without constantly changing the volume, love your videos and keep up the great work!!

I didn’t take any CSE specific classes. Some do, but I wasn’t in CSE yet. All engineering students take the same couple courses as freshman and, at least for honors, this was very valuable and I liked it a lot.

3:45 in, and you haven't even hinted at the title that was the reason for me selecting the video. I'm trying to figure out if our son should explore honors colleges more, or stick to the elite schools. I don't know if you're going to address this, but I'll never know.

Hi, useful video. My son got into Ohio CSE for 2020 fall, and scholars program. But he is realising that he should have applied for honors. I understood that one can change scholars to honors, but is it possible in freshman year or should he wait till jr year?

I’m not sure how the process works but in my opinion he should try to switch before his freshman year. I don’t think waiting till junior year would be worth it

JMontage hi I also applied for the scholars program and just now realized that I wanted/should’ve applied for the honors program as an incoming freshman. Do you think I should try to change this like right now? I’m scared they’re out of spots or will just kind of get annoyed at me haha. I know it’s an option to maybe switch into honors after like a semester at OSU but should I even do that?

I just scheduled earlier today, honors is nice. I think certain honors classes are harder than their regular counterparts though, like FEH, FEH physics, accelerated calc, etc. But all of my honors GEs are the same class with smaller class size. Not sure if I'll stick with honors forever but it was nice to see your take on it. I also attempted to do the IBE program, even mentioned you in my application but didn't make the cut, and that was a main draw of honors for me.

Yeah priority scheduling is so clutch. But at this point in my college career, because there are only a certain number of seats in the pharmacy program, there's no need for priority scheduling. I'm gonna be in the same classes with everyone else in my class for the next 3 years. So in my case, I dropped honors

I’m surprised I didn’t say that in this video, because that’s 1000% true. I might have accidentally cut it out. But with only few exceptions honors isn’t harder in ny experience or from what I’ve heard from friends.

I took it as well and it’s definitely tough. As to whether or not it’s relevant, it depends on your career path and professor a lot but it probably is more relevant relative to FE
