Congrats Amayah!!! I’m class of 2024 and i’m so nervous about doing the college application process this fall….however watching these decision videos makes me so excited for the experience.

Congratulations on UCLA & UC Berkeley!!! That is huge! I myself got all 3 of my degrees from UCLA & I can say that it's one experience you'll never forget!! I'm truly glad I chose UCLA over CAL, but that had to do with my specific program, having a more robust campus life and events, internship opportunities , sports/entertainment opportunities and my funding (received a full ride & housing grant for my bachelors). Definitely reach out if you have any questions on either school!

I know this is after the fact, but being waitlisted or denied at a school - especially one that should be your safety school - doesn't mean you weren't good enough to get into that school. You actually may be *too good* and they figure you're going to turn them down for a "better" college, so they're hedging their bets. In other words, you're such a good applicant they know you have more prestigious choices than them. Another way to look at it is that your safety schools are somebody else's dream/reach schools. You're going to do well wherever you go! Keep your focus and keep your eyes on the prize!

Amyah the acceptance rate for UMD is more much lower for out of state students. If you would have applied coming from MD, you would have gotten in.
