The player at 05:18,Del Wilkes, went on to a moderately successful pro wrestling career, first in the AWA as The Trooper and then to WCW and WWE as The Patriot.
Thank you I knew that name sounded familiar. Sad to see he passed away. I remember his fued with Bret Hart as that was the time I started getting back into wrestling.
This was back before every jerk who watched a game thought he could pick an all-star team. Bottom line was that if Bob Hope didn't intorduce you, you were not an All-American no matter who said otherwise.
Flutie for some reason took a lot of knocks. He played in three pro leagues. Is considered the greatest CFL QB of all time and played in the pro bowl. And he nailed a drop kick! Not bad for a 5'9 QB.
@@Shem441 Nope. They made an official list upon the 100th anniversary of the CFL, and it was Doug Flutie. And but for interference of the Bills' owner in the Music City Miracle, Doug would have had an NFL playoff run. Just a great athlete.
The biggest reason is that the Washington Huskies got screwed something awful. They won at #4 Michigan & beat #2 Oklahoma on a neutral field. BYU didn't beat a ranked team that year
@@toddcouture4001A few publications had Washington as their national champion in 1984. Wish the school would claim it. They were the best team in the country that year
Just curious - this video had been out there for 13 years and in the last month has gotten a slew of comments… Did someone forward it on Twitter or something?
Incredible how innocent and harmless Mark Bavaro looks like. He was a human battering ram on the field who would carry defensive players on his back. So many greats here. Bruce Smith, Lomas Brown, Eddie Brown, Fralic, Flutie, Byars... Dan Lynch was a sad story. During training camp his first season in the pro's his weight plummeted strangely...he ended up in intensive care. Turns out it was addisons disease. His career ended before it could even get started. Del Wilkes (The Patriot from GWF and WWF) with the legendary neckroll! Sad to hear he passed at just 59
The first thing l thought of with this is the Bob Nelson comedy bit doing this. Hilarious. Then when the model walked across the stage l thought of ‘Old School’. “I’m here for the g…”.😮
To bad they don't do things like this now. Or maybe I'm missing something. A lot of programs TV had way back were good. Like the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts. Just think about the Beefs Celebrities have now. Some end up dead. Maybe if they had those beefs air'd with a laugh, then it( the beef) would lessen in seriousness...
I wish they'd still do something like this. Of course you can't replace Bob Hope, but I could see someone like maybe...Steve Harvey or Sebastian Maniscalso doing this.
Jerry Gray played in 4 pro bowls as well. Fulcher was maybe the first LB size DB at 6'3 235. All Pac 10 as a true frosh. ASU would blitz him all the time. Three pro bowls for Cincy.
@@visionaryinsightsports yep. I take it you read Susan Ford/Brice Taylor's book "Thanks For The Memories"? Bob Hope had pimped her from the 50s-90s, and then her daughter, Kelly from the 70s-90s. I recall her saying in the book, that Hope once pimped her to Frank Sinatra in Vegas, and Sinatra had choked her, smacked her, and drowned her in a tub full of hot water, and she started to cry, and Sinatra and Hope started laughing at her. She also said Bob Hope had sex parties and pimped her daughter to HW Bush, and Clintons. Susan had to service JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, HW Bush, and Clinton. Kelly and Susan were taken to Hugh Hefner's mansion in the 60s and 70s. She was also taken to an island in the 1990s where and her daughter were prostituted to Sylvester Stallone, Charlton Heston, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Then Taj Mahal did a satanic ritual on her, to keep her programmed, but it wasn't working, because Ted Gunderson (retired FBI agent) was helping her deprogram, and Jesus was helping her. Sad that her daughter Kelly tried to kill herself twice, and then got put into a group home, and, Susan couldn't regain contact with her. Bob Hope was a sick satanist and pedophile. He always looked very creepy. God has a special place for Kelly and Susan, and also for the likes of Bob Hope
@@mongoslade277 Your high as f*ck. BC doesn't come close to winning ten games without Flutie. OSU would have won nine with or without Byars. One game my ass. 3500 yards and 27 tds in an 11 game season.
Watching this I had in my mind a picture of Bob making his wisecracks about one of the players and all of a sudden instead of taking it good naturedly he says "what you say 'bout me sucka?!!!!" then wastes Bob with one punch.
