How would you put Tennessee over Georgia in this? Assuming Georgia’s losses are to Bama and Texas (since you have them with 2 losses) then they would have beat Tennessee and Tennessee would have losses to Georgia and Alabama if Alabama is in the title game? UGA would be over Tennessee right? Both 2 losses and Georgia with the head to head win or am I missing something?

So, Texas is beating this Alabama team not once, but twice? That's a bold call. I get it, Texas is better this year than last, but this Bama team is built to stress the defense (which isn't proven right now at Texas) and has DeBoer who beat Texas last season, with less talent. I get that Texas beat Bama last season (in Milroe's first meaningful game) but assuming the same outcome will remain the same two more times is a bit of a stretch. I don't see it, but I guess we will see.

Beating ANY good team is tough in today’s college football world, but beating any good team TWICE in one season is almost tantamount to impossibility. Despite how good Alabama, Georgia , Tennessee, and Texas are, I’m struggling to see any of them beat any of the others multiple times this season. Could happen of course as anything can, but it sure doesn’t seem likely… RTR

Don’t really understand the logic behind Tennessee over Georgia. If you are saying UGA will be a 2 loss team, most likely bama and Texas, that would mean they beat Tennessee in the regular season. No chance they do that and get ranked below them

I'm with you on proper seeding, and reseeding after the first round, but you can't convince me that the bowl placement for the final, if this were the outcome, is absurd. This has literally been the case since football has been played. I am a huge Miami fan, so I'm well aware that three of our five national titles came in the Orange Bowl. Is that necessarily fair? Hell no, but it's how bowl games work. If there's one thing that probably should have changed as part of the move to the playoff era, it should have been to lessen the important of the big bowl games. I love them, but they have the order backwards in the playoffs. Teams 5-12 should be playing games in smaller bowl venues. You shouldn't be rewarded with an amazing home game experience for your fans for what will ostensibly be the spots given to conference runner's up and a smattering of other teams. It's not just that #5 would get a fun home game, they'd be playing a G5 team, and the worst conference champ as a reward for not winning their conference. Also 5-12 should be seeded on OOC strength of schedule and record. I get it some conferences are better than others, but the goal should be to win your conference. If you didn't, prove you were better by having a higher SOS and record compared to other conference teams (both within and without). Ole Miss can't help years it doesn't get Alabama, Georgia, or Texas, but it can help which four teams it plays outside of its conference. Punish the B1G for insisting on playing 9 conference games. No reseeding at this point. Winning a conference, any conference, is hard, and it should be rewarded. Honestly not just because it's hard, but to have a carrot at the end of the stick to preserve all regular season games. Teams will be scheduling better to have a higher seeding in that first round, and that's only if they don't win their conference that they have to worry about that. These four teams did something special, and they should get the true home games. Leave the normal big 5 bowl cycle to the semi finals and the national title (rose, orange, fiesta, sugar, cotton). You could even do two rounds of home games and have the big 5 split between the first round (4 games) and the national title on their current cycle.

I don't see Ohio St going deep in the playoffs. Tennessee is untested. Will have to see them play Georgia first or at least a top team. Texas could win the SEC, but DeBoer has beaten Sak before. Could do it again.

Way too much football to be played before I can even start thinking about CFP matchups. Use to be you could generally narrow down to 2 or 3 teams which would likely be the ones playing for the National Championship. But with the transfer portal thinning out depth charts and College Football teams playing longer regular season schedules THEN conference championship games before even beginning to play in a 12 team playoff format you’re going to see injuries play a major role in deciding the eventual National Champion. So the teams that have the most depth and / or the teams that stay the healthiest and avoid injuries to key players will have a far better chance of winning.

There's a lot of red and orange in that 12-team list. I know lots of traditionalist CFB fans don't like the idea of the playoffs, but that top-12 looks damn compelling. USC lost at Oregon last year because it had a bad defense and Oregon will have played in the conference championship according to your lineup, so USC FTW...if the Trojans don't screw it up against ND *and* Penn State.

Still a long way to go. Probably lots of upsets coming!

I watched this after UNLV lost to Syracuse 44-41..... at home..... sort of gotta laugh at the futility of trying to predict when any teams will decide to show up and when another team decides to stay on the bus - did Georgia lose because Bama showed up or because UGA's mind was still somewhere meandering about in Kentucky? did Michigan win because they are the better team or because Minnesota has convinced itself it can never beat the Wolverines? the mental side of every game is the great intangible which makes mathematical models like trying to predict the path of a tornado..... no matter how it goes, just like a divorce in Alabama, somehow, somewhere, someone is gonna lose a trailer.....
