Cole Adams I have a problem for paying college players as this will unintentionally hurt Army, Navy and Air-forces football programs due to rules that the schools have. This is after it being difficult to recruit to these schools in the first place just my two cents feel free to disagree. Thanks for reading this comment
Man I'm an OU fan, how do you think I feel? Ain't easy making the playoff, only to get blown out in the first round, like why do we even get in if this is how it ends all the time?
Tracking The Market I mean I like UGA and Ohio State cuz my dad went there and I grew up watching them. I’m vibing with OU (but don’t really like em) because my grandpa played there before going pro🤷♂️
@@OnceTwiceCellophane it's not a stretch. Two of them wanted to go to Tennessee. Trevor has family there, Tee is from there. LSU recruited ETN way too late . I don't know Amari's story but all three of them were not clemson from the jump
Well they had the option to go to a team that has done fuck all in the past five years, or go to a team that just won a national championship. Pretty easy choice.
8Bitbanana peel especially the point of college football.. is for the students and alumni. It’s not for everyone else. Pro can never compare to that. Other than buffalos love for the Bills and arguably the South’s love for the Saints.
Thanks for mentioning Minnesota. I became a Student there this year and had one of the best college sports years anyone can wish for. I’ve always been an NFC north guy, but having a story as the gophers has really changed the mindset of the state.
Much like Baylor and Utah they're just one quarterback away from being legitimate contenders. Find somebody that doesn't suck and these programs will be going places.
@@charltonwake6813 If he's the quarterback of the Minnesota Gophers then yes, he does suck. Every time I watched them play, even during the big upset, the entire passing offense seemed to revolve around him throwing the ball as far as he could and some poor receiver being forced to make a 50/50 catch. He's lucky his receivers are good at doing so. To be fair though crappy quarterback seems to be the problem for every not quite playoffs team. Baylor, Penn, Utah, Minnesota. All just one qb away.
@@bolbyballinger I dont think you know what you're talking about if you say he sucks. "50/50 catches" so you didnt watch any gopher football this year.
I lived in Tulsa that year. It was awesome coming back from Christmas vacation after all the insufferable OU fans said VT would smoke KU. The fact the Sooners were destroyed by the Mountaineers in the Fiesta Bowl was icing on the cake!
Bruh I go to The university of New Mexico... it gets worse. In fact I think the 3 teams that run along the rio grande river (UNM, NMSU, UTEP) only won 3 or 4 games last year combined.
Enjoy it man. My dad had season tickets at Furman and Clemson since I was born and we went to one of the two games every Saturday. He passed away in 2017 and I go sit in his seat now. Make sure to hug your dad and let him know you love him. A relationship like that is special.
@@roundgreenpotatohunter58398 sorry man. I wasn't trying to be a downer. I just think it's important as hell to appreciate those kind of moments because they are the stuff you really hold onto.
If they made the playoff 8 teams, that would help recruiting because players have more options to compete for a title, and it would let more teams to compete for a title. That fixes everything!!!!
This year proved that wouldn’t have fixed anything. My LSU was head and shoulders above number 4 (and everyone but I won’t get into that), and there were only 3 teams that had a legit shot. Why expand to add other teams that will just get kneecapped and sacrificed?
@@grantd8575 well you expand the playoffs and you will have more top talent head to other schools. Joe Burrow got to play with NFL talent in the following years because LSU is one of the bigger names that doesn't usually make it. But compare the talent at LSU to the talent at Oklahoma or Oregon and its completely different. You expand the playoffs to at least 8 and you will see a more talent head outside of the four that are always in the playoffs in the past decade.
@@themanofconstantsorrowelia1929 it really won't change recruiting all that much outside of a couple kids here and there tho, all those kids will think is "why would I go to a team that makes it to the playoffs and gets blown out every year when I can go to a team that makes it and wins every year."
College football is 100% better than NFL. Waking up on that Saturday morning and watching college game day there is nothing better it truly holds a special place in my heart
Even Gameday is so much worse than it used to be. I had a clip from Gameday from 2005 come through my recommended videos a couple of months ago. It was amazing. They actually talked about football. I learned who some of the players were that were not Heisman candidates. They talked about different defensive schemes. You might actually learn some football.
Ocean Thresher yes I agree most teams don’t have a chance but u have to think abt this most teams don’t care for the national championship they care about the old rivalry’s that’s what means more the bragging rights and the tradition the talegating it’s just all magical and u don’t see that kind of passion in the NFL and u know it to
Hi’PO Clan because in the NFL, the bragging rights are Super Bowls won, not regular season games won against a rival. The Dolphins might have given the Patriots problems in the regular season, but the Pats just need to show all their banners to silence them.
I have always loved the ncaa sometimes even more than the nfl. As a kid I could never sleep in on Saturday’s so I would watch spongebob super early and then flip the channel to college game day, the greatest sports show of all time. The excitement and fun that comes with the sport was contagious and that is what football is about.
I don’t understand how people love college football but won’t watch minor league baseball or g-league/wnba basketball. It’s just bush league. Who cares
@@billymanziel5666 that’s not true at all. College football is the highest level of play some of these guys can play at for their age. Not to mention the school spirit and crazy crowds, fans, and atmosphere. You can’t find that in literally any other sport.
CFB has so much passion. I enjoy watching CFB more than any other sport for that reason. Watching these young guys come together to make a great team is wonderful.
agree so much. I go to the most passionate game played. Army Navy. Also been to three Sugar Bowls, two Cotton , a peach(Army Illinois)one Orange, one Fiesta,(Penn State Miami.)These do not compare to Army Navy. Love the college game like me, you have GOT to see at least one Army Navy game. Passion like I can not describe. Go Army,Beat Navy!
@@AlbertTheGator at first but in the following years you would see more top recruits heading to teams that aren't the top. They wouldn't have to head to them just to get a see shot at the national championship
I love how being a Penn State student gives you optimism each fall semester that THIS YEAR will be our year... Before we inevitably lose to OSU or Michigan plus another road Big 10 game thanks to a coaching blunder by James Franklin
Hey Cole Adams, you said that you were looking to research the topic of college hockey and its recent rapid rise of the talent pool and sending more players to the NHL. As well as more big time teams looking at the possibility of adding teams. For example, at the #ACHA level (Non NCAA Hockey). We had a recent crowd at the Winter Classic in Dallas,, we had the Univ. Of Texas & Texas A&M Club Teams at the ACHA Division 2 Level recently draw a little over 5,000 fans. This could make a statement for college hockey growth in Texas. Another big reason for this is the growing number of strong international players playing in the NCAA. For example, at the recent World Junior Hockey Championship, we had NCAA Players playing for 🇫🇮, 🇨🇦 and 🇨🇭. 🇸🇪 and 🇸🇰 also had committed players to NCAA Teams in the tournament. Other countries like 🇫🇷 have had current players and/or commitments also play in the WJC Qualifiers.
Nicholas Vandergeest Any idea how many of those years they finished top 10? They’ve always been a QB and a better offensive scheme away from smothering bama’s legacy.
I'm always gonna prefer the NFL because I want to see the best of the best play, and more open competition. Like you mentioned, in college football its a small handful of schools that dominate every single year. That's boring. And I honestly don't give a shit about the traditions or rivalries either. Just my 2 cents.
Even tho I think college football is better, I won’t argue with anyone on that point. The NFL definitely has more parity and that’s what holding cfb back
Agent Tizzle Texas had a down year this year but they were still a solid team and were good the prior 2 years. They have a lot of returning talent so they should be a top 10 team next year
I miss the era where Miami Florida State Florida Texas Tennessee Georgia Oklahoma USC LSU Ohio State Michigan Virginia Tech Auburn Nebraska and Penn State were always good those were the top 15 schools from 93 to 07 Clemson was just ok and nobody cared about Alabama they was stuck in the middle with Arkansas and South Carolina and you get a surprise run from UCLA Cal Texas Tech Louisville Cincinnati South Florida etc
I love college football and all of it's tradition. You make great points. But it was like this 80's, 90's and early 2000's when Miami Nebraska Norte Dame USC were dominated football. To have these schools dominate again u need great coaching. With great coaching u get the great players. Then u dominate. Everything comes in circles.
But thats not fun to watch, before the patriots era rose the NFL was fun to watch because every year you could loose your throne. At least I see it that way!
Tiago Gonçalves The last had far more champions, but there wasn’t a system in place to create unanimous champions unless you were undisputedly dominant.
Penn State wins Big 10, goes undefeated, beats Texas (U.S.C. Clemson P.S.U.,Texas all unbeaten) in semi's and U.S.C. in Championship. Hope big game is in Rose Bowl this year.
If the Big 10 has fall sports, Michigan N.J.Pa. Minn.Ill. still shut down, Penn State will win every game, beat Badgers and make final 4.They are the most complete team in nation, ass is U.S.C. Complete Team's COMPLETE!!
I am a die hard ND fan. College football was great when I was a young kid and teen in the late 80s through the 90s with Lou Holtz at the helm. They should have won in 93 but lost to BC. That was one hell of a game that might not happen again since BC's program is going nowhere fast.
"About to fall off" vs Top 5 in recruiting every year since what, 2008? Pick one. Bama is literally 5 years (66-6 since 2015, which was the 7th year of the dynasty) beyond when traditional dynasties collapse.
The main problem with CFB is that you have 5 power conferences that dont play the same schedules and you just have to use subjective measures to determine the best teams.
It is the same teams every year it’s so top heavy. I’ve always liked the NFL because at the end of the day it’s more fair because everyone’s a pro and it feels like everyone has a chance
College football is a joke,it's the only sport where perception precedes reality....the best thing about college basketball and baseball is that the cream always rises to the top...it always has to be played out on the court /diamond.....in college football,if you're perceived as good before the season starts, you have a head start over all other teams that in reality could actually contend for a title...pre- season rankings mean something only in college football...and not so much in the other sports where ultimately it gets played out on the court/diamond....perception is everything in college football,we never ever really know who the true best teams are
Honestly i think players profiting from their likeness will actually improve parity. If you're a top 20 recruit, would you rather go to Alabama and be just another guy in the uniform, or go to a team like TA&M, Houston, U or another smaller program and be the #1 superstar face of the team getting undivided media attention? It'll pull those top guys away from the top teams because they'll want to be able to profit more.
@@simulatedsportsassocation2556 that's why it's done on the down low, it's been going on for years, clemson is bad about this, just look up clemson paying players lol
@@biggiecheese2376 New England is an expectation. No other team in NFL history has been as dominant for as long as they have. All the teams left in the playoffs haven't been to the Super Bowl in years. NFL isn't as predictable as college football.
If you don't like CFP, you can always go watch FCS playoffs. There's a REASON that FBS doesn't do a massive bracket system like that. They don't want to set it up so top talent are playing a bunch of extra very competitive games every year. That would only create tons of problems, not the least of which is increasing risk of injury.
Or we just get rid of conferences entirely and stop letting teams make their own schedules. Doing so would allow us to seed teams by their record and only use strength of schedule as a tiebreaker.
Liam Carruthers yeah last two teams picked. Some of these teams deserve it more than some other blue collar school that played low-level opponents. There shouldn’t only be TWO pac-12 teams that make in existence of the committee
I remember an ad during the first cfp championship that had people in shirts for teams ranked 5-10 saying “we’ll get it next year” and tcu was one and I think back to that often. Also sorry I am a Buckeyes fan
The problem there is that it makes it impossible for new fans to feel welcome. Trying to figure out who your team is? Well fuck you! If college football keeps having this attitude they'll find that they can't draw in new fans. Also why the fuck would any intelligent being be passionate about the teams? They do nothing but fuck over their players at every opportunity. I'll have favorite players, but teams? Fuck them.
Expanding to 6 or 8 teams needs to happen in the near future. The only problem with this is that I don't think it will happen anytime soon because of so many old heads that run the sport that are stuck in their own ways.
Granted Im' European, maybe I don't know that much about your kind of football. However I enjoy collage football much more than the NFL, for me it is just much more entertaining as a viewer. I think a factor is the skill level of the players. They aren't as skilled the NFL players but they are still good enough to play entertaining and exciting football. They make huge plays, bust a defensive coverage that allows a 60 yard TD pass and stuff like that, it ain't the best quality, but it's entertaining as hell. The season opener between Florida and Miami is the perfect example of this, terrible football, entertaining as fuck to watch. The thing I find the most stupid in general are they players. Take for instance a 5 star QB, most likely he is going to commit to Bama, Clemson, OSU or one of the biggest schools, which all still have maybe 3 other 5 star QB's on the roster. I get it that they wanna play for the best teams and say they "aren't afraid of competition", but in reality, why not just go to a team like Baylor, Minnesota, UFC or one of those teams? They are still really good and guaranteed not to have as talented QB's, why not go where you can be the number 1 guy from day 1? Players need to swallow their pride and go where they will play, as a young player in any sport, you won't get better if you don't play. Look at Burrow, didn't play at OSU, went to LSU. Had one year as a full starter to become better, and look at him now.
I’m from Australia I literally wake up at 4am to watch it although I don’t agree with some of the things that happens or the way it’s run I will always watch. Go Bucks
I completely agree, college football is so uncompetitive to the point there’s no reason to watch when you have some unknown school being shit on by alabama
I definitely agree with your love and hate of college football. Even though I'm an LSU fan on top of the mountain right now, I do realize that I better enjoy it while I can. With Alabama and Clemson owning the recruiting rankings yet again, they will be in prime position to play for another title. Ultimately, If there isn't more parity in recruiting, then the results at the end of the season will remain the same. What happened with LSU this year is truly a rarity these days in college football. I just hope there will be more teams like LSU that come from outside of the preseason top 5 or beyond to "actually" challenge these perennial contenders. As much as these teams are dominant and deserve to be there, it really is boring to see the same 3 teams fight it out with the 4 seed as cannon fodder. It really starts at the line of scrimmage. OSU, Bama and Clemson continue to recruit and develop top talent on both sides of the line. As a result, they usually physically dominate the teams on their schedule. Oklahoma has great skill position players but lack dominant line-play. The results speak for themselves. Clemson lost arguably the best defensive line in many years to graduation and the draft. If that line played played LSU in the game, the result may have been much different. And having to tier QB's don't hurt either. 😁
Been a tough decade for an Oregon fan? Lol you sound ignorant. Most conference titles than any other Pac12 school, 3 Rose Bowl victories, and 2 national title appearances. Had a 2 year hiatus from being elite with crap coaching and have a 9-1 record vs Oregon State and a 8-2 record vs Washington. And that’s with no great recruiting classes until 2018. Like I said before, you sound ignorant.
I still love college football. I like the reasons you listed. I use to watch everything for years. Then SEC got loud and with the media altering recruiting as well by hyping up one conference and alignment happening with Missouri and A&M going to the SEC opened up the gates gravitate more recruits Southeast. I'm probably just older and miss the way things use to be and conferences were more regional, most the kids stayed in their region and got to see more mid west, west coast, north east, and southeast kids compete against each other in bowls and national championships, I wish the old conference set up was still intact for the playoff era. And I love the 6 team playoff with the byes.
Clemson has been a breath of fresh air because they are not a "traditional powerhouse". Or maybe that's just me being a Clemson fan since the Tommy Bowden era.
College football is cyclical. 20 years ago Miami, Nebraska, and USC were incredible and seemed like they would be good forever. Alabama and Clemson will come back to earth eventually and new teams will rise and take over for 5-10 years. This is always how it has been and will continue to be forever
To be fair, MBB doesn’t have the talent disparity that CFB does and even then, how are we gonna have a bigger playoff window without rising concerns on player safety?
Which is always the case, they don't even have a point. Power 5 teams only have to win their games. Teams like Iowa, Iowa State, even Rutgers or Vanderbilt would 100% make the playoffs if they win their games.
This is why I like the NFL way more. "Any given sunday" really applies in the NFL. Who would have thought the Tennessee Titans would be in the AFC championship? Who would have thought the 49ers were going to be so dominant?
FCS football is a joke Cole! As a fan of an FCS football team “Southern Illinois University at Carbondale” it’s annoying to see North Dakota State win the Missouri Valley Conference and the FCS National Championship every year! North Dakota State has won 8 National championships in the last 9 years! Every year I know that North Dakota State is going to win the National championship and no one else in the FCS stands a chance against them!I think you should maybe make a video about the FCS and how it’s worst then the FBS, because at least in the FBS their is a different national champion every year!
Yes but literally only like 10-15 team who really only have a chance in the FBS maybe even less just due to the top players just goes to those schools. And after that Is literally anyone’s game which makes it fun
Freddy FTW six teams in the Missouri Valley conference and James Madison University are the only teams in the FCS that can compete with with FBS level teams.
I’m a Clemson fan, I go to Clemson and have lived in South Carolina pretty much my whole life. Even though there was that heartbreaker for us on Monday, I do agree with you. College football is so much fun to watch bc it’s so volatile, and everything means everything, every little mistake costs big, because there are so many teams. But even with all these teams it is always us, Ohio state, Alabama and that’s about it. However, I would like to point out something about Clemson. Clemson’s culture is what draws people to us. We never used to be as good as we are now, Dabo built this team from pretty much the ground up. When Justyn Ross was asked why he was choosing Clemson he said it was because it felt like a family. We are hard working but we also have a program to nurture. Take our back up quarter back for example, Chase Brice. He’s likely transferring, and the whole of Clemson is behind him, we want him to succeed, he wasn’t going to get the recognition he deserved here. We want chase Brice to do well, and I promise wherever he goes everyone here is rooting for him. Now I don’t live in Alabama, so I don’t know firsthand but from what I’d heard from Alabama fans, when tua got hurt everyone thought the season was over, they were done for. Here at Clemson if Trevor got hurt everyone would put their faith in Brice, there wouldn’t be any “I hope he does ok” we would back Brice 100%. That’s why Clemson has the best recruiting class, that’s why were contenders year after year, because Dabo built a program meant to nurture, not compete.
Totally agree with you. My best friend is a Clemson fan and growing up they was just another school they were a 8-9 win middle of the road team now there elite. Its nice to see a s hook that wasn't a big name school come up and make history. I just wish they beat up on my Buckeyes every year
Very True!!!! I hate it when the only teams that win are Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State!!!! It sucks that every power five conference at least one team that is almost useless to watch because you know that they will destroy everyone!!! SEC- Alabama/My Team- Missouri or any team that plays Alabama, B10- Ohio State/My Team- Iowa or any team that plays Ohio State, B12- Oklahoma(Favorite Conference because even though Oklahoma dominates almost every year, the play is wide open, high scoring, and genuinely competitive college football)/My Team- Iowa State, P12- Oregon(I love the P12 because even though Oregon is usually always the best, there is a better chance for other teams to compete)/My Team- Oregon State, ACC- Clemson/My Team- Florida State. All the best recruits say, "Which team will get me the best chance to get to the NFL? Oh yeah, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State." I personally think that it is unfair. Like you said, people say that college football is more entertaining because more teams compete. I don't think it is very entertaining at all! The only teams that compete are the three I mentioned, and the shittiest teams are allowed to compete in all these "Toilet Bowl Games"! Back in the day, you had the two best of the best teams, which was usually a bigger variety of teams than just three, competing for natty c's, and only a few others competing for a couple of other bowls. Take the 1940's for example, the BEST team was named champion, and the other great teams would compete in a few bowl games. I also think that only P5 conferences should compete. IMO, The Rose bowl should be the natty c game every year(For nostalgia' sake), and the Sugar, Orange, Cotton, and Fiesta should be built into a a playoff bracket. The bracket bowls will rotate every year. The top two teams get a bye, and two games are played to decide who plays those two teams. After the next two games are played, the two teams are decided for who will play in the Rose Bowl for the natty c! IMPORTANT!!! Scenario- Dream Season. #1-Iowa, #2- Missouri, #3-Iowa State, #4-Florida State, #5-Oregon, #6-TCU (All Conference Champions ranked from 1 to 5 +1 Non conference winner)... Picture this, Iowa and Missouri get a "first round bye" and are placed in the, lets say, Cotton and Orange respectively. Iowa State(3) will play Oregon(5) in the Fiesta Bowl to decide who will play the high seeded Iowa. Florida State(4) will play TCU(6) to decide who will play the low seeded Missouri. Lets imagine that Iowa State(my second favorite team irl) beats Oregon to go on and play Iowa(My favorite team irl) in the Cotton Bowl. TCU beats Florida State to go on and play Mizzou in the Orange Bowl. In the Cotton Bowl Iowa beats Iowa State, 45-44 (Dammit, this was the hardest decision ever) to go on and play in the Rose Bowl NC. TCU beats Mizzou 45-3 to go on and play in the Rose Bowl NC. Iowa beats TCU 33-30 in 2OT and is named national champion (Sorry Cole, I had to let Iowa win!) What do you think?
- winning a championship works more like american idol than actual football league - don't care about seeing two teams duke it out in the papajohns bowl to see who's the 20th best team and who's 21st - 90% of teams are irrelevant as they have absolutely no chance of ever winning the title - no unique brands to get behind. a million teams called eagles, bulldogs, or tigers, usually with a letter as their logo - the best teams are obviously cheating to get top recruits - i didn't go to a university, so no team means anything to me - stars will only be on the team for at most, 4 years just my opinion. could never get into it.
@@rjante2236 it would destroy those sports , excellence drives basketball, baseball will always suck regardless but this why soccer is the best sport its parity is real and not manufactured, no salary caps but u still get upsets here and there
@@joshuaprince6580 Honestly I just find basketball boring as hell, what with the lack of parity. I mean, we got the same damn teams in the finals 4 years in a row. At least this year it looks a little different.
And Ibelieve they went on probation for recruiting violations.I would love to see Clemson,Tennessee rivalry back on.Battle of the Orange.Easy drive for fans.
Why I hate college Football 1. The drive towards two giant conferences has gutted traditions and rivalries and mad frankenstein divisions that make no sense. 2. Media, money, and all it's corruption 3. The whole frigging thing is rigged for the SEC 4. So many big teams get BS wins by paying crap teams to lose to them to pad their stats. this is why I don't respect the SEC, especially Alabama 5. The "Playoffs" and Bowls are a joke because it's a group of SEC bought coaches going, give it all to the SEC again and again.
Texas has averaged inside the top ten recruiting classes for several years now, and they’re incredibly well-funded so I’m not sure poor recruiting is the reason they haven’t risen to the top recently. They were #3 in recruiting for 2018 (USC was #4).
As a lifelong ND fan we're rarely in the conversation.. and getting blown out against Clemson, and then ANOTHER rain game debacle really killed us. But I still love college football, and everything about it. It has the best regular season in all of sports.
DigitallyVeiled I think it still is, especially this year. The patriots and AB are just some examples. I’m not a patriots fan and was happy to see them fall, but it just feels like they weren’t putting out much effort. It feels like almost no teams are putting in as much effort as the college teams. In college ball theres so much desperation to make it to the league. When they get there, it feels like they almost“retire” after making it.
I’m an Oregon fan from Ohio. It’s amazing to see the rise/fall/rise of the team. It’s been great but yes, I do hate seeing Clemson and Bama every year. I like Ohio State since I’m from Ohio though. Although they’re very arrogant 😂
Ohio state fans are most of the reason everyone hates that school. Besides osu fans I can’t think of anything I really hate about Ohio State. Just there fans are like a nuclear power plant
This is how you make everyone happy: 8 playoff teams, all 5 power 5 champions get in so every power 5 conference is represented, then the highest ranked group of 5 gets in so they are represented, the other 2 spots are wild cards that the committee chooses so you can still get in without a conference championship. Then out of the pool of 8 the committee will rank them how they see fit and play the tournament.
Awesome video and agree with all of it. Would def change the title though. As a huge college football fan, the title almost made me not click and I think most NCAA fans would like this video
We definitely need more teams competing for a national championship. I’ve loved college football my whole life but it has become boring with the same teams winning all the time. I’m a Tennessee fan so here’s hoping Pruitt continues to take them in the right direction.
I was super into college football my whole life up until like 3 years ago. I’ll still watch occasionally if it’s on but like I’m tired of seeing the sec and like two acc teams just fucking steam roll the rest of the league sucks
I always thought to would be good for the FBS to institute a sort of “salary cap”. Limit how many scholarships are available to certain ranked players out of high school. Like every school gets 5 scholarships for 5 star high school athletes, 20 for 4 star, 50 for 3 star and so on. It would make it a lot more interesting to see potential super stars spread out.
Great Idea.My school, every student is on scholarship. Actually they are paid to go. Everybody.Place has rules and regulations up the ass Curfews too..My school is the U.S.M.M.A. Member of the one of five club. Government owned. Also root for another 1 of 5 school,Army. We do it right. Our game with the harbor patrol/ aka Coast Guard is as intense as Army Navy.Coast Guard cadets have compared Merchant Marine to a Truck Driving School. Go Army beat Navy.
Totally agree about the parity. As a kid (think late 90s), it felt like the # 25 ranked team could easily beat # 1 and anyone else could beat anyone. Now it feels like #10 cant even compete with the playoff teams. I liked it when it felt like good coaching and playing hard was the biggest factor in determining the winner. Now its usually who has a better recruiting class. Thats not exciting.it makes playing the games pointless and anticlimatic.
Great video man! You and I are on the same train with a lot of things. Unfortunately I just think it’s gonna get worse and worse as the years go on. But I still love college football and all the memories I’ve made watching it. Go Bucks!
Cyan FPS you're kidding, right?! "I liked the Gators, then i moved on to tcu, and then Louisville." What's it called when someone switches teams because another one is better? Thats exactly what a bandwagoner is 😖. I'll bet you were an LSU fan this year.
@Ryan Randone Unless you are born and raised a fan of a certain team, or you attended the university, then being a fan of a crappy team has no point. Teams must get good to attract fans. Bandwagoners are just people who werent raised to love a certain team imo, and there's nothing wrong with that. In the end, sports are entertainment, and the best way to garner support is by being entertaining. Complaining about bandwagoners just seems like a faux argument because they are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing.
Well said Cole. And I can't say that you are wrong about anything. I love college football as an adult. As a little guy, I was a Green Bay Packers fan but The first college game I went to changed it all for me. Your thoughts on the post season and the cast of three top teams are much like mine. I've given it a lot of thought and there isn't much of any easy fix. You can't punish the best teams for being good! I do like the playoff system we have for FCS teams though.
As soon as you said "Teams contend for a title, but one slip up ruins it all", I thought. "Dang. He could not be more right." As a Boise State fan, I think it's ridiculous that if we lose 1 game, and we cant go to a NY6 bowl. The rankings are strictly politics. Alabama plays crappy teams, goes undefeated, but they go to the Playoffs. Then Boise State plays decent teams, blows them out, loses one or two games, and either is ranked in the bottom 10, or not at all. This is an interesting video, and I enjoyed it. Loved that you showed all sorts of teams, and I love your points, and I agree to all of them! Thumbs up for me!
@Ryan Randone no team outside of Bama can slip up and still have a shot though (typically cause when they lose it's to teams that win the Natty or at least make it there)
College basketball u can have a national championship with a losing record so that argument holds no weight. College football has a playoff it starts week 1. Then end in championship round with 4 teams. College football greatest sport ever
My Washington Huskies were a top ten team for 3+ years and we never won a single new year six bowl. Then we lost against Oregon and Utah by one td. And we lost to Oregon because of a missed field goal. Don’t get me started about auburn. Also why do we get more hate for being in the playoffs then Ohio State. THEY GOT BLOWN OUT AND WE HAD MAJOR INJURIES!
The best part about college football is how meaningful the regular season is. No other sport can say that every single game you play matters. Expanding the playoff would only devalue that aspect. Georgia at number 5 had absolutely zero business getting a shot at the title, but if it was 6 or 8 teams, there’s no way they miss out. Essentially it gives a pass for teams to not get off the bus on Saturday morning and lose to South Carolina at home, or “it’s ok you lost to LSU by 30, have another go at it”. (picking on Georgia here, I know) Because of the parity in the sport, or lack thereof, there only ends up being 2, 3 or max 4 teams worthy of a championship, and we can’t have playoff spots being handed out to teams who truly didn’t earn it on the field.
