I think if you all react to Dimash's latest video "When I've Got You" it'll be more to your musical taste. He wrote the music it's like a mini movie and is completely different in every way to this video.

As many reactors have stated, "It's one thing to hit various notes so eloquently and clear; it's another to go from one note to another in a matter of seconds like flashes and not a gradual change." That performance was in his studio during pandemics to be streamed S.O.S. is the international help request stablished since the sinking of the Titanic and is an acronym for Spanish words "Socorro Os Suplicamos" (Help we Beg) “SOS d'un terrien en détresse” tells of an earthly being that is in distress and asking for help because he never felt well in his own skin, he better wants to be a bird to see the world in case it could be more beautiful when seen from above. Luc Plamondon wrote the lyrics of SOS about a very distraught young man who just lost his lover causing him extreme questioning of his own existence. Finally being by her lifeless body, he is able to let her go “in peace“ with the words ‘sleep, my child, sleep’. It is a part of an french Rock-Pop opera released in 1979: Starmania. One of the 5 most difficult songs in French language. It was recorded by Daniel Balavoine in 1979 or so and Grégory Lemarchal won of the French reality singing competition Star Academy 2004 with this song.

While I do get the sailor and the sos thing, it’s actually a song from Starmania…it is a French-Canadian cyberpunk rock opera written in 1976 with the music score by Michel Berger and the lyrics by Luc Plamondon. In the opera the lead character is Johnny Rocket and he is singing S.O.S. when Crystal, the love of his life has been killed while fighting extraterrestrials who are trying to take over the earth. It is a song of self-doubt about his life and whether he wants to go on living. At this point he wants to be taken up into the heavens. Starmania has been translated into many languages and has been performed in English by Tom Jones and many other famous singers. The song S.O.S. has been popular ever since it was written because I think it speaks to everyone’s self-doubt which we all feel at some time in our lives. Dimash performs this in its original language. French is one of nine languages he speaks. Dimash makes you feel every single emotion the character is going through in the opera in his performance. Why do I live…why do I die. In many performances of S.O.S. he will drop to his knees just as Johnny Rocket does in the opera, weeping over his lost love while holding her in his arms telling her to sleep child. No one on the planet has ever sung this so perfectly as Dimash.

Have you listened to Paolo Nutini? He has great vocals. Try Iron Sky live at Abby Road Studio for a starter but there is loads you can listen to. He is from Scotland in the UK. His songs are very diverse I think you will like him
