Memories shape our lives, and we determine our future. Here's to cherish the good times that I enjoyed during my college time, thank you to all my friends, lecturers and parents for making my time in Sunway College worth. I have learnt so much, benefit tremendously and had a whale of a time in Sunway College.
Timestamps:
1. Course structure: 1:08
2. Connections: 1:36
3. Life: 2:12
4. Lessons, Thoughts and Advice: 2:50
Connections
Our intake happened to be the time when Sunway received most of their international students, so I met many friends from different countries like Japan, Korea, Kazakhstan, Singapore and the list goes on.
Besides, I was really happy to make great friends across our country from places like Ipoh, Sabah Sarawak, the KL locals and many more from diverse backgrounds.
Life in Sunway
Facilities in Sunway
I was really grateful to be sponsored by the government to study in this prestigious institution. I was impressed by the expansiveness of Sunway library and the magnificence of the entire design of the college and university buildings. During breaks, my friends and I will just talk, eat or study together at various study areas that are modern, conducive and comfortable.
Highlights
The best part is Sunway offered us a free 6 months pass for Sunway Lagoon! So we can go and destress right beside our college.
Life
Life is vibrant here. Away from the comfort of your own bed at home and the luxury of having everything you need, my survival skills just automatically turned on. You learn how to juggle between studies, family, friends and prioritise some personal time for yourself. I love the fact that every time I walk through the grand entrance, I would be greeted by beautiful melodies from the grand piano which plays by itself. I feel that with a quality education, life was full of expectancy with a bright future ahead.
Advice
My advice to live an amazing college life is to work hard, and play hard. Always keep in mind to balance your time between studies and your social life, get your priorities right, be careful with negative influences and stay positive!

Hi@@crustytoes87! I have a video about how to ace in foundation studies, maybe you can check that out for academic-wise advice? The most important tip is to always stick to the Rubrics and don't procrastinate work too much haha. College-life wise, I'm not sure whether they will fully resume physical class next year or not, but the Sunway library is full of amazing resources which helped me a lot during my foundation studies. Try to choose friends wisely too, make sure to surround yourself with positive people and they will aid you along the way. Anyways Malaysia is a vibrant country filled with diverse culture, the most amazing part is the food haha you have a wide variety to choose from. All the best to you and hope you have a wonderful time in MUFY!

Thank you so much Ms. Charity!!❤️ Best wishes to you too teacher! I'm starting my medical studies in March 2021 at Monash and plan to continue using Sunway library for resources once campus reopens (I'll apply the library card as a Monash student though, Sunway has the best collection of books! ), maybe we will meet physically again someday😄

hey there is there going to be a lot of presentations infront of the class??😖 cs i struggled a lot when talking in a crowd of people:(((
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 3 года назад
Hi there, unfortunately yes there would be at least one group presentation for each subjects if not mistaken. But it's a good way to train yourself too, since there must be presentations during your univeristy studies.

What's your advice in getting better scores in foundation year? There's not a lot of resources for students to rely on doing foundation:") Unlike doing A levels and such .. I'm currently in the UNSW Foundation program and am struggling a bit with physics ...
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
My advice is to really look into the rubrics for each assignment. Always compare your work with the rubrics, make it as close to the highest level possible, and you will get higher marks
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
For physics, I actually recommend you to find some reference from A levels. I understand that the foundation resources are limited, so I actually grasp a better understanding of the theories and concepts by looking at A Level textbooks
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
I'm sure that you can find more references from the Library, one the lecturers in Sunway recommended this book: College Physics. Maybe you can find it from your library

Hello I’m starting mufy in two days time from today 😂 I just got to know there’s an e assessment in maths , tbh I haven’t been in touch since my last edexcel exam I had which was last June , so I would like to know whether it’s a tough or the procedure
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 3 года назад
Hi! It's not tough, in my experience the test was just about refreshing our high school maths knowledge. And the maths test is not graded, and a selected group of students who scored nearly full marks would enter a focus group class. I think that's all, it won't affect anything so don't worry about it :)

hi, is it hard to make friends with people? im in my 3rd week and i feel lonely ;_;
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
Hi there! I understand your situation because you guys started the semester online, we normally make a lot of friends and went out during the physical orientation. We make friends during physical classes too by being proactive in saying hi to people and chat awhile, maybe you could try asking some of the people that you're an acquaintance with to go out for lunch or dinner, or doing projects tgt at the library or study areas? We normally bond through occasions like that
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
It's actually easy to make friends as long as we invest some time and heart, try to go with the flow, exchange phone numbers with them and try to keep in touch with each other. Remember that everyone can be our friend but we must choose wisely for who we are really close to. I hope these tips can help you!

What subject did u take ? Is chemistry and bio MUFY hard ? I’m July intake, idk if I can cope. Please help me.
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
Hi there! I took maths, chemistry, biology and English. Don't worry about it too much, if you can always stick to the rubrics during assignments and do good in research, I'm sure that you will excel!
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
I'm July intake too in 2019. Remember to find resources from the library when you're working on lab reports, do group studies with friends too! Just go with the flow, never procrastinate and I'm sure you'll do good😉
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
If you don't fully understand a topic in chemistry or bio, you can look it up in A Level textbooks, because they provide more explanations compared to the MUFY module. But keep in mind that it's just for your understanding, not everything will come out in the small tests.

May I ask what time normally the classes will start and end?
@GraceJournals

Hi there, college hours is from 8.30am to 4pm weekdays. We chose our own schedule, each class lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
Normally we will arrange at most 4 classes per day, and we sometimes get a day with only one class/no classes at all, depending on how we choose our class schedule.

How difficult is MUFY?:) compared to a levels?
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
I actually studied half of A Levels before getting my scholarship to study in MUFY, so from my experience, MUFY's science subject has a similar syllabus, only simplified.
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 4 года назад
MUFY is more manageable compared to A Levels to me, because A levels focus on exams, while MUFY focuses on a lot research assignments and on-going small tests. I really enjoy MUFY compared to A Levels because I get to do a lot of univeristy-style assignments and get marks from them.
@GraceJournals

Is mufy hard?
@GraceJournals
@GraceJournals 3 года назад
I think Mufy is manageable, we have small tests and on-going assignments to contribute for about 70% of internal marks, only 30% is for the final exam. But it really trains you to be comfortable around how university assignments works so you will be prepared once you start your university studies
