Hi Grace, may I know what you got for your ISAT exam? I will be applying to Australian med schools too and I’m extremely nervous about the test as I couldn’t find a lot of practise questions online.

Hi, yes no problem you can still choose accounting in MUFY

Helloo, yes most of the calculations we can still use fx570ex, but we still need another Graphic calculator to work out some graph-based questions

I want to ask what is the minimum requirement for MUFY if I want to be a doctor? Cuz someone told me that MUFY got different minimum requirement for student that want to take med later on like 5B and for students that don’t want to be doctor their minimum requirement is 5C

Can I know what should I do to ace ISAT exam and what materials I should use ?

Hi there, because ISAT is mostly testing on critical reasoning skills, I think working on brain-training questions would be good. Second, the vocab they can be quite deep at times, so reading newspapers would help in terms of knowing a few more terms, and also to boost your general knowledge to help your comprehension skills

Is MUFY accepted overseas? Also, where is MUFY foundation classes held? Is it in Monash University campus or Sunway campus?

MUFY is more accepted by Australian universities, but you always have to check the entry requirements and whether they accept MUFY. Do ask the staff /agents of universities you're interested to confirm

It's a mixture, group work would only account for 10-15% in my year

Hi there! I am under the Malaysian Government Scholarship called JPA. But maybe you can try out the excellence scholarship for good MUFY results? That's not full scholarship but it can subsidise a few thousand. Hope this helps, and good luck in your MUFY studies!

Hi Grace, I’ll be doing MUFY standard Feb 2021 intake. I’ll certainly take English, Bio, Chem, and Maths, but I’m still unsure if I take a fifth subject (bonus) or not, and if yes which subject, so what do you recommend? Is it worth the extra study load or not? Financially I’m alright cuz I’m on a full scholarship. Thanks, - Saoud

Hi there Saoud! I'm a scholarship holder too haha If you plan to take a fifth subject, I think it would be good to take up ICT if you are interested in programming, but don't take physics because the workload would be heavier with lab reports. I think it's not worth the extra study load just for the extra marks, it's better to focus on the 4 subjects on your hand because it's assignment-based, having extra work load might mean less quality submissions and lower marks. I believe that you will do just fine with 4 subjects, I can say that almost 95% of mufy students take only 4 subjects per semester.

@@yunusm4208 hi there, apologies for the late reply as I have been busy with classes and the workload lately. I'm not sure of the grade 10 and 11 syallbus since I'm from a government school background doing SPM, but what I know is that mufy maths incorporates add maths, and O level knowledge may not be sufficient. I think the knowledge from AS maths may help though since it's all maths at pre univeristy levels

@@GraceJournals grade 10 is o levels , grade 11 is basically AS and 12 is A2 ! Cambridge . Isn't the mufy program , requiring o level results for Cambridge background?? U need SPM or o levels ! Some students complete their O levels and they enter foundation program , they don't have any AS knowledge . Will it be hard for them to cope with mufy maths ??? Thanks for the reply btw , I am going to enrol in January 2023 hopefully ! Can't wait 😁

@@jovinaandrea4625 I was one of the mufy maths tutors before, I think if you're really struggling with maths, you can find a tutor up on this Instagram account: Noted.my I'm not teaching now because I'm focusing on my Med studies But personally I feel that if you attempt all the questions in the module as practice, you're good to go without any tutors.

@@jovinaandrea4625 no, if MBBS is the undergraduate level, MD is the considered as Masters in medicine, the entire course structure is the same except we have to write an additional research paper to straight away get our masters. We still need to get our specialisation via the normal pathway, after housemanship

Hi, from my understanding it’s not directly, we still have to apply and it depends on how many positions are available. But there are a number of medical students who graduated from Monash Malaysia and are practicing in Australia

@@GraceJournals Thanks for the reply! Is there a rough stats from monash like approx how many students got in after graduated? Will there be any exams needed? Also, I m aware that the course in monash is no longer called MBBS? Is there a change with the course or? Sorry for posting so many questions. I am an international and considering medicine in Malaysia. I am aware that bahasa is the national language; however, I am not familiar with this language. For this instance, if I undertake the course, will it affect clinical practice visits or any parts of the course?

@@carmen9011 Monash’s medic course is called Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD) instead of MBBS, this is a higher grade than MBBS because we have to do another research paper in year 4/5 if not mistaken

@@carmen9011 about the language barriers, is it true that most patients speak in Malay languages but I heard that English-speaking patients will be prioritised for international students during clinical practice

Hi there, you can take 3-5subjects per semester, but normally people take 4 subjects

Hi, bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine is referring to the upgraded course of MBBS. I haven't met anyone named Arjun Yadav at the moment, but there's people from India and Sri Langka coming to study here too.

For your info, MBBS is an undergraduate degree, whereas for MD the upgraded course, it is actually a Master course integrated into our studies

Hi there, for what I did last year, i did some research about the 4 principles of medical ethics: beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy and justice. If you can understand these principles and try to apply them would certainly be a bonus during the interview. Do prepare answers for questions about conquering your weaknesses too

Is there any scholarship scheme for Mbbs program at monash??

Hi, apparently no. There's a bursary called Monash Equity Scholarship to aid students with financial hardships which sponsors about 50-100% of the fees, but it requires interview and is super highly competitive, they only choose about 1 to 2 students to sponsor everytime.
