Elena Roberts I am NOT defending this girl that did all these things to that poor girl but we do need to pass off the facts and the facts are that she tried to request a new room mate because she didn't like her and when they denied it is when she began to do those things. NOT because she was black, but because she did not like her . Because she wanted her out . Yeah, she called her 'Jamaican Barbie' but racisism is not the fuel that fueled the fire .

Nick Mccallister In university, they can’t just move you around without a reasonable excuse. There’s a lot going on and a lot of kids and they can’t accommodate everyone. Sometimes you just have to deal. This girl is childish and racist. Yes she is racist because she called that girl racial slurs and her actions were racially charged. The reason the white girl didn’t like the black girl was probably because she was black. It happens all the time.

Just because the "victim" is black and the "offender" is white doesn't make it a hate crime. If you actually bothered to do some research into the story the Jamaican Barbie did worse things and deserved what she got and should have been the one kicked out of school, arrested and then deported.

My college roommate put bleach in my shampoo and would empty cereal boxes all over my bed. I petitioned for a new roommate and got one :) but she didn't stop...my door was covered with spit wads and my car was keyed and she made my tires go flat. It took 7 months before campus security stepped in and had her removed after I filed for harassment and a no contact order. Still to this day I have no idea why she did what she did.. I didn't even know her prior to college. Some people are just mean and some have mental issues...or both!

This is reprehensible behavior , and they offending roommates should have been expelled Immediately when it was found out!! My daughter's friend had this problem, and the school ignored her until my daughter and I demanded that she report the abuse to her parents! Suddenly, it was easy to resolve when they called, but the poor girl had endured it for Months!!

From my research it looks as if the blonde was bullying the other girl Jackie ( Jamaican Barbie). There is no indication that she was bullied more that she was the bullier. I do have the facts. The roommate was posting secret stuff mocking her intimate stuff on social media, posting pictures of her on the toilet, video of her snoring and stuff like that. She was made to feel unsafe in her own room. She complained and the school refused to take her complaints seriously, so she fought back in kind. And she fought back better if you ask me! If both girls were the same race, or if the roles were reversed we would never even be hearing about this. Sad thing is that campuses are not color blind. Blacks can get away with anything, they deny white students protection, and when white students take things into their own hands they get punished. That is the campus climate of today. I feel sorry for all white college students and if they are smart they will take one year at a community college so they can go into university as sophomores and not have to live in the dorms with all the riff-raff, third-world shitbags and rapists that university housing is full of nowadays.

Very proud of my child who went off to college. That child chose to live in international housing. One of the best young people ever to help students from other countries feel comfortable with their new life in America because that child is very accepting and respectful. When college friends of your child's private message you to thank you for raising "such a phenomenal person" you know you have done a good job.

I am expressing pride in one of my kids. Every parent should have pride in his or her kids. My last statement in my comment was not expressing arrogance, it was expressing that I, like many other parents, often feel inadequate as a parent so to have others express appreciation for how one of the kids was raised helps we parents know that we are doing the best we can. The name "USA Resident" is not used in arrogance. It is used with an attitude of gratitude for the freedoms that we have had here in American throughout my lifetime. Yes, they are gradually being stripped away, but we do still have freedoms that many other countries don't give their people. I am not racist at all. If I were racist, my son would never have chosen to live in international housing where he was around individuals of a wide array of cultures, ethnicities, religions, etc. because racism does tend to carry down from one generation to the next. I have friends of various nationalities. When people put immigrants or refugees down, I am speaking up to show support for them. My kids and I are very accepting of all people no matter what the race, skin color, religious belief, or otherwise.

I didn't know colleges had that option. I would have definitely chose international housing if I was in college. You get a friend (and their grateful family) for life in a different country who will happily sponsor you in their home, forever. What a wonderful opportunity. Bravo.

I would've lived with 10 of these girls over my freshman roommate. They make it sound like its an easy situation to swap out of but, in my experience, the housing department, university police, and city police only care about money and won't risk upsetting the crazy person who might sue them. As awful as it is, each person has an equal right to the room and if your roommate wants to make your life hell, it will be laughably easy for them.

I didn't become friends with my first roommate, but, I did learn how to resolve differences and identify boundaries. We argued a lot in the beginning, but, once we learned each other's boundaries and what we disagreed on, we lived with each other quite well.

I wasn't in college but i did room with someone for a bit and once i found out she was looking thru my stuff, i kept everything under lock and key. From my back pack to my suitcases etc... Everything was locked up. I have my own apartment now and i still do that.🔐🔓🔒🔑

Parents and university don't always want to help you, not everyone has that caring fmly, friends, people to be there for you when you need help & it's sometimes because other people are going thru things themselves so everyone's going thru something so just report to the police, they'll usually get something done.

Especially because we are living easily to late 90s and even 110s, I think we need to adjust our words and age limts. We get rid of the "teenager" word, make that antiquated, and we just use adolescent. Children are up to 20, 21-35 (I think that's my personal cutoff where I see obvious immaturity) is adolescence and 31-70 is adult. We retire at 75 or so.

There’s always problems at St Joseph. Even my friend had a problem after this. All they do is try to hush it up rather then fix situations.
