This is so stupid. I've been happily single for 14 years because they're simply aren't good enough options. My priority is my job and education and the "men" that hit on me are weed smokers, bums, not accomplished or don't respect woman. Many men cant handle a strong women and I'm not going to be with a below average person just to have someone. Not saying some people dont fit those categories but many of us don't.

I was single for years before I started dating my now fiancé but that wasn’t my fault at all. Where i live guys only care about watching tv 24/7 and having kids. I don’t want kids and i would rather go places than watch tv plus I don’t even have cable or a tv. I would rather spend my time reading,going to the library,being outside and shopping. Every guy here hates doing those things though so thats why I didn’t date anyone here because i would have been doing everything alone and there is no point in dating anyone if i was going to be alone 24/7. Also I don’t want to live in this state forever but everyone here does so that’s another reason why i was single for so many years before. I did long distance before but i didn’t want to deal with that again because i knew that person wouldn’t come visit me and would tell me to just wait till i moved to see them. I didn’t want to be in a relationship with someone I couldn’t see in person. plus it was impossible at that time to find someone that shared my interests and didn’t want kids and i knew a relationship wouldn’t work out unless the other person wanted to do things with me and didnt want kids. My relationship with my fiancé is amazing because he also doesn’t want kids, he also likes going places with me, and he wants to move to a different state with me because he understands that it would be better to have nice weather all year.

For then that says more about ones self and why they feel or think that,and why they've only attracted or put themselves in situations that this was and is the case. And how soon or far into the relationships did we ignore the red signs and maybe ignored them? So now we lost trust in ourselves that were forgoing our blessings and choosing to live in fear of one of the most endearing aspects and experiences in life that make it worth living for. It's easy to keep our walls up and keep people and men at bay to stay safe. Its brave to say I may get my heart broken and be disappointed if I set myself up to do so, but I'm gonna do it anyway because that's the kind of person I want to be and the life I want to live not to have had regret at the end of this journey, and missed out on a man who's out here thinking damn where's wifey,don't give up I'm wondering where the heck his blessing is.

Who cares about being married? Not everyone wants to get married and not everyone wants to date. I enjoy being by myself and enjoying my friends and family. Relationships are hard work and I dont feel like working for one, lol. If I want to eat icecream and pizza in one sitting I don't have to worry about my SO saying anything about it, lol. Most men only care about sex and looks and will eventually cheat if they haven't already. The only thing marriage is good for is building wealth. That's really it.

Well that is what i want someone honest caring loving but i sort of became a hermit over the last say 20-30 years and i think once i get settled financially that the right one will come along ..been trying to be positive but have put my past relationships behind me but am also poor and on disability but am smart and honest once someone earns my trust over time. Then I am safer to open up but am 54 now will be 55 but have a good heart and am loyal faithful. But to me what matters is how one treats others and what is in their heart want a caring loving commitment minded man just not sure if will be forever single. In my 40's was briefly married to a bum who ended up admitting he hated all americans and he was lying and cheating after 2 yrs I divorced him. Wish i had some good advice not much into dating sites..

There's no need to, Get Married.. anymore. A person can have a long fulfilling relationship without bringing the government into it and like a few of comments below.. the men hitting on you aren't what you're interested in. When I was in my mid 20's, thought that's what I wanted, marriage.. all I wanted was two children and to just get along with my man, raise our family which can be done without a paper document.

I am a 41 year old celibate woman and who continues to follow this lifestyle strong and confident of myself. I strive more to succeed in the career that I would like to pursue and I honestly do not want a husband or partner or to have children. For these three last things are not and have never been on my top priority ever since I was a very little girl. I don't believe that I need to be in any kind of relationship to be a better person and it will not make me any further special because it is not marriage or your sexuality or having an offspring that matters especially now in our 21 century and it didn't even a very long time ago in history. It is mostly what you do to create a change or difference that will help the world. At the end for those other than me surely it is their decision and they have all the right if they choose so.

Something that helps me is to just treat myself to things like nail polish. Maybe you should save up for spa treatments! Again, you might actually be really beautiful, but you just don't see it.
