Mark, you are 100% correct. The residual slickness on these soaps is awesome. This is one of my key asks from a great shaving soap. Many soaps lather well but dry off quickly on the face with limited residual slickness. That is when I end up getting shaving irritation.

What a great review Mark! I'm glad you enjoyed the Smoked Cedar & Leather as it's in my personal favorites category! We may make a splash down the line, however we want to ensure that we don't spread ourselves too thin, too fast. Also, EVERYONE makes an aftershave splash/balm and I want us to stay in that "intro to wet shaving" category more than in the hobbyist section like some other companies. That looked like an awesome, smooth shave, and I'm absolutely stoked to hear you've enjoyed yourself. I can't wait to see/hear if you lean more towards the CC1 or the CC2 recipe by the end of your trials. I find that the big difference is the glide during the shave, and the sense that the CC2 could ALMOST be its own aftershave! It leaves the skin feeling so soft and moisturized, it's almost not necessary to put anything on (as I've done on a few occasions now). Thanks again, Mark, and remember to always #KeepItClassic!

Jake, my pleasure. So glad you enjoyed the review.:) I really enjoyed the scent of this soap and being able to select any kind of splash to finish up.:) VERY nice! Collette's approach and marketing strategy to your shave soaps is a good one. The CC1 review runs next week.:) Yes, there is a difference and it's exactly as your company describes. I noticed CC2 lathers up a bit more quickly. But both performed well. Wet shavers will be pleased with either formula.:) I recommend they get both.:) CC1 is great for daily use. CC2 can be used daily, as well, but is also perfect for those evening nights out.:)

Mark, they have a CC1 and CC2 formula. Do you know the difference? Are they from Maine? There's a picture of the Portland ME lighthouse on their website.

Bob, here are the main differences between their CC1 and CC2 formulas from their website: "Roughly 5oz of our upgraded shaving soap that will leave your skin feeling moisturized, soothed, and ready to tackle the day. We wanted to create a recipe that was a step up from our original CC1 formula, but that didn’t bump the price all the way to the moon. The big differences between the CC1 and the CC2 formulas, are the additional oils the CC2 formula has to help fight off nicks, keep your skin slick between passes, and help soothe your skin after the shave. The addition of bentonite clay helps give your razor extra glide across the skin, and the additional glycerin helps soften your hairs before attempting to cut them. This is a very balanced shave soap, with all of the things you want, and none of the extra bits that you don’t actually need." So, the CC2 formula gives you all those extra skin food ingredients and additional, slickness, glide, nick fighting properties, etc. CC1 will give you everything you need for a great daily shave. Both are good, but CC2 is more "top shelf."
