I honestly think this match against the Doggies will be 55/45 in favour of the PIes. Still a large margin for us to lose, but we have to be the favourites going in against the dogs. Having said that, I will not be putting any money on the Pies, but they are my team to win on Friday. Go the PIes! Reason why I think the Pies should win; I think the Pies play and know their system better than the Dogs play their system. Hagen played well last week, the Dogs also didn't go to him when they could've when he was in a good position to get the ball, that wasn't good play by the dogs, so I feel Hagen will be off this week, I'm hoping anyway. lol I thoroughly enjoy your videos mate. I look forward to you exploding in the YT footy scene. :)
In the pies system we trust!! One thing the AFL is learning this year, is to NEVER count out the Hot pies in any game! Thanks for the kind words, mate! I look forward to sharing the journey with you all!!
Great analysis as always. Shultz shouldn't be measured by the number of goals he kicks. He wasn't recruited for his scoring; his value is forward pressure and our ability to use him up the ground. His value will increase during the year as his mature body and endurance shines through for us. He could be a really important finals player. We really need Bobby to step up, the mids to keep kicking goals and our pressure to be high this week. I agree that Kreuger gets the nod to play and to clunk a few and bring the ball to ground for the crumbers. We have a huge challenge against their talls but it's all about what happens up the ground., as you touched on. Pies by 11!
Thanks for your kind words, Tim!! I agree he wasn't Brough over for goals, yet he is very capable of doing so! Along with Bobby, we will need a couple goals from both of them to give us a fair chance. Hopefully, Ash can chip in as well! GO PIES!!
With the new rules interpretation Change I truly believe we can win this. They are gonna be harsh with holding the ball so If we have extremely good pressure and tackling, we can win. That's what we could. Schultz can do that as well.
Seasons over bud. They wont win the next 2 and will have to win every game after the bye and thats not gonna happen. Not having pendles is like throwing your car keys away and you want to drive home. Its only gonna be Crisp and Daicos and with daicos on the first ball he aint gonna be effective as a run on player which his stats clearly show this year with his kicking efficiency. He aint as good when under pressure and that is something he has to grasp. The midfield will get crushed against the doggies and you can expect a big loss. They screwed it up at the start of the year with a 0-3 start and a full list when teams with injuries were winning. Now they have over 10 start up players out for at least a month and even after that they arent gonna be 100%. When you get injured for a length of time you arent the same player as a fit uninjured player as you are always concious of reinjuring again til you get your confidence up.
You make a good point about Josh going into the middle .. especially now pendles is out.. how would that be the Daicos boys in the centre.. the wings are taken care of now with harrison and lipinski playing well..
Great preview. Beating the bulldogs will be a tall order. The bulldogs over use the football and are suspect for pressure and have a few injuries, so we have a 50% chance of winning. Still have a very solid defense and center clearance. Maybe Howell will be up forward again?
Thanks Vintage! Will be interesting. I can definitely see Howe playing forward! Maybe Kreuger also comes in to assist with ruck duties and play forward.
I thought Carlton were the team that always seems to have an extended injury list but at the moment Richmond and our Pies make their list look positively healthy. We can't take a trick - even our youngster replacements feature prominently amongst the wounded. I note that Harry DeMattia has been mentioned as a possible inclusion this week - I see him as another Beau McCreery which can only be a good thing. Our guys can possibly get over the inconsistent dogs but those dreadful Dees loom as a bridge too far next week. I totally agree with your thoughts for Friday's game.
Thanks Kelstra for your support as always!! Keen to see if Demmatia will feature. I did also fail to mention Markov, so maybe he swings forward to play a pressure role also?
Great analysis champs! As you said the game will be won in the clearance battle. Another note we need to slow down the doggies inside 50 pressure to allow us to set up our defence otherwise it could look very similar to the 1st quarter against the freo last week! Keen to see moving mangets announcement tomorrow to know more about the squads! Kruger would be a lock, paying 1.01 to be included this week.
