This sounds radical but its time to put Moore forward, not so much because we need him forward but because its making the whole side nervous as fck every time it goes down there and he's totally lost confidence. The media bashing this week will no have helped. The radical part is he swaps with Checkers. Moore just needs to compete, kick two goals and take some inside 50 marks, he can do that. Checkers who was recruited as a defender - I would trust him more as a one-on-one defender at the moment than Darcy Moore. Who would Langford prefer to see jogging down to man him up?.. Checkers or Darcy? With Frampton in terrible form and prolly getting dropped we really can't afford to drop Moore too, BUT we just need to figure a way to keep him the fck away from the back line! If not Checkers maybe Kreuger swaps with Darcy?
Cannot believe the negativity. We are a structured role playing team playing with an injured list and have just lost a couple of close games against Good teams. No panic at all. Trust the coaching panel. They always get it right. Stop picking on Darcy! He is doing his job and his on ground leadership is important. The Pies are never ever dead!
Debut Ned long , Shultz and reef in. Markov, noble and beau out. That allows whe and crisp back and Ned + lupinski to cover midfield and reef covers lupinski forward time and counter rotation with reef midfield time also. That also frees up pendles half back with crisp .What do you guys think. Ned or reef sub
Dean for Frampton is a must, and leave him in for the rest of the home and away.. at least we'll know if he's part of our future by then. JDG, pendles and checkers will be better for the run they had against GC. Can't wait for the game. GO YOU BLACK AND WHITES
It's a tough gig trying to prepare for an inevitable future without Pendles Sidey Howe Cox and Billy by blooding kids while mounting a premiership defence.
Probably needs some more conditioning at VFL level before considerations are made! Not sure about Reef in the backline. He certainly isn't a key sized defender.
It’s a must win game, and with how we played against them earlier in the year and last week I’m not super confident especially with how the backline has been functioning as of late.
I hope that our Boys band together, and show everyone why we can be a great team again. Nervous as hell for this hard tough match, but I am keeping my Black and White faith. Go the Mighty Pies 😤💪🖤🤍🖤🤍
All the attentions on Moore, but quaynors been just as bad. Darcy is out of form, but people talking about dropping him, trading him and stripping him of the captaincy have NFI.
The proof is in the games thus far with Krueger!! Cox has not been retired ,in fact a reason we are struggling is the absence of Cox! His ruck craft is up in the top 10 in the AFL , in fact i expect him to get another year, maybe two year contract. Look at the ruck stock in the VFL side, none are close to AFL standard , they recruited mid season a 19 year ruckman they are allowing him to time to replace Cox within two years. Now for Kreuger , reminds me of a a wind up jack in the box , but when the spring gone , he is too. I think he maybe delisted , if they sign Cox for another year. Actually they cannot not afford not signing Cox , even as insurance back up player.
Don't Agree! Sorry Mihochek is 31 years old Will Dan McStay's knee be ok to play at his best? Question Marks on McStay doesn't hurt his knee a second time. Pies need a replacement for Nathan Murphy. Darcy Moore has really struggled doing Murphy's defensive role. Howe might retire at the end of this season. He's 32. Tall Defender & Tall Forward definitely needed. Can't rely on Nathan Kreuger. Don't forget Jamie Elliott probably will retire at season's end. Forward Line is going to be only Hill & Schultz. 43:56
Truth is, Pies are no better than Swans 3 years ago...we are getting results that are same as 2022...if the Pies are smart, they'll see this at end of year and dump a couple of senior blokes...aim for a flag in 4-5 years...if they don't fix it by next year, 2026 is looking bleak...3 years after playing in a GF, last 5 or 6 sides (2018-2023) projected finish is 7th-17th at start of that season. Pies in 2026 will be in their 3rd season after flag in 2023. Looks ugly...As for Moore, he cannot do it himself. Frampton is not the answer. If C Dean cannot do it, just recruit some gun tall's...maybe Eyre will be ok? Looks bleak...
darcy moore fell off around after round 19 last year, i noticed he stopped taking these massive intercept marks and kicking horrifically. He started slowly this year then played one of his best games on anzac day (similar to last year), only to deplete in form afterwards. He needs to be dropped for a couple of games because he is clearly not working hard enough. edit: although i also think that the whole backlines out of form; frampton was stopping everyone and was taking big marks himself but has stopped, iq is no longer stopping the best small, the only ones who are still dominating are howe and bruzz.
He has to play more 1 on 1 with his Opponent and that is something he Struggles With When he can leave his Men and Float in to mark the ball and then attack He been poor at this last few seasons as can give his Opponent too much Space between Him and His Oppenent
Murphy judged the flight of the ball, a significant, difficult and very underrated skill. Moore has never been comfortable in the back line, and seeing him lagging behind opponents told it all to me. He has had enough there. He wants to express his dna but is too timid to admit all this. Dad was an extraordinary mark. Move him forward.. yes with the pressure off. That's what is required to take that overbearing load off him
The whole backline as been pathetic lets be honest no manning up skill level decisions being made as well to late to try something new now should of done it 6 weeks ago frampton is useless moore gaurds bloody grass maynard has not been great stop staging nobel cant kick howe about only one ok and what the hell is wrong with quanoor essendons forwards will smash us
It is time the front half keep the ball going our way when are we going to help ease up our defenders do it all start winning in the centre and then kick goals Darcy Moore is just one cog pressure tackles kick goals when we kick points it’s comes to the opponent’s end to easy Smash them as I said put Sidney back put Darcy in the ruck and pick The Big Roo because we need big man who are fast too many little men it was proved against Dogs and Roos
Tbh I’ve never been a massive fan of Darcy. I think on paper he is great, but he is very underwhelming when it counts. Spoils and intercept marks were his highlight. Now he only has spoils. His decision making was often so average it would cost us goals (kicking to a bad option -> gets intercepted > oppo goal) . The only other thing Darcy was generally good was creating structure on the defence, whereby the opposition could never get a mark inside 50. However we did win a premiership under his leadership so maybe there’s something there. Maybe put him in the ruck? Couldn’t hurt and he (just) might have the height for it. Hell, stranger things have happened, Howe often plays forward
Agree re all of that dekafs! Ruck might be a bit of a stretch! However, I would entertain a forward swap. Play kreuger/Mcstay in the backline. As you suggested, crazier things have happened!
Dont u dare pin this on Frampton , howe or Dean. Sure he misses mutphy, but hes purely out of form, drop him. Hes either second to the ball, or when hes in ftont , he drops marks and fumbles. Drop him , he isnt GOD 😊😂😂😂
@@PiesFooty fine. Ok. Consider 2 things.1. Hes the captain but mot superman, dont be so precious. If needs a week off for reality check , do it. he s not undroppable. 2. Becausd of ur love of DM, dont be blindsided ,Frampton s playimge well and Dean was dropped for playing well and being consistent. Go figure. Great vids.
@@alandoherty1332 I wouldn’t say I love DM, Alan. I just think dropping him can’t be on the cards. Play him forward and pinch hit in the ruck. Heck, put kreuger in the backline to allow for that switch up.
Even if he is down in form or carrying a slight injury, he is the captain of the biggest club in the land.. where's the passion? Where's the mungrel? I just dont see it from him this year. Get a haircut, take some angry pills and make your opponent earn it.. the form will come back, he's too good for it not to
long term give the captaincy to someone else next year and just let him play without the extra responsibility. You can't have the captain prone to long periods of poor form and not deserving of a game, especially as our main key defender.
A lot of people say Moore's been different since Murph went out, which is partially true. But I reckon after that injury late last year (against Geelong maybe?) he never recaptured his previous form last year or this year. Remember first half of last year he was being talked about as the best intercept defender in the whole league, but he wouldnt have even been in the conversation in the second half of last year, including finals where he was okay but not a standout - this still when Murphy was still around. But yeah, since Murphy's gone his form has dropped off even more. Just thought I'd point out that his dip in form started even late last year. I reckon if he's carrying something, whether he recovers this year or with next year's preseason, I hope he'll came back all cylinders firing like his old self.
Great video! Darcy needs another dynamic tall defender with fast closing speed to bounce off and work with. That's why the loss of Nathan Murphy and his slump in form have coincided in my opinion. Maybe we need to roll the dice on TJ and blood him in the AFL side at the expense of losing a few games. It's high risk high reward but the upside would be huge if we could make it work!
