Collinite No.845 Review | FocusOnDetailing
The time to review this wax has finally come!
In this video like most of my other reviews I go over the application, over view and thoughts on the given product. This was a highly recommended one and the pressure was on to get it done!
For this test I used a pearl white Subaru XV that was already in extremely good condition but just needed some protection to keep it looking that way.
Without giving too much away what I can say is I believe the hype behind this wax is well deserved!

An old neighbor who since has passed told me about this wax one day while I was in my garage. He slowly walked across the alley way and handed me half a bottle. He said “Here try this stuff and you’ll never but anything else.” That was only 10 years ago but so far he couldn’t have been more correct! Incredible product!

Apologies for the inconsistencies in the audio. I'm editing with headphones on and what sounds good through them may not sound good through your average speakers. Working on improving the sound quality. Enough excuses haha, hope you enjoy the video and don't forget if you have anything that can help or enlighten others to include it in the comment section!

This is a great product. I apply this over top of a coat of Menzerna (Jescar - US) Power Lock Plus paint sealant. Both products bring the paint gloss to another level. Occasionally, the Collinite 845 will start to "sweat" or haze 2-3 days after application making you think that you forgot to buff a section of the car. It's actually the oils coming to the surface. It will come off with your next wash never to return.

I put this on my car for the first time today. It was about 100 degrees outside (I live in Phoenix, AZ) so no need to put in in warm water, the wax already had the consistency of water. Definitely one panel at a time wax. I let one sit too long & needed a lot more elbow grease to buff it off.

Nice one mate. I've got a sprayer on my 845 bottle now, works great. If you heat it up enough it will have the consistency of water and spray it onto a hand applicator pad and away you go. I've got it layered over Fusso Coat 😉 bloody great stuff. Those big softie microfiber cloths from Bowdens are blopdy awesome too! Probably my favourite MF by far.
@focusondetailing3855
@focusondetailing3855 6 лет назад
That's really good thinking! I'll be doing that for the next time I use it for sure. Oh yeah Fusso plus Collinite would make for some irresistible shine and glow haha. Those Big Softies sure get a good workout!

@@focusondetailing3855 It works well mate but you really have to get it hot, I run mine directly under the hot water tap for a solid 10 mins to get that nice water like consistency.

I like this stuff. I use after Jescar Ultra Power Lock Plus. I apply with machine. Much quicker. If u put the bottle in hot water for about 5mins, then put a sprayer on the bottle it's much easier to use and save product

Nice vid. I noticed in another video you had Bowden's range; how does the Fully Slick Sealant compare to this wax? I actually have Collinite but looking into sealants as I don't have as much time these days to wax so often.
@focusondetailing3855
@focusondetailing3855 5 лет назад
Thank you! Fully Slick is great but I don't believe it will last as long nor have the same water repelling ability of this wax. Collinite is a good go to if you're just wanting your car protected but can't get back to doing it again all the time, it holds up pretty well. Another alternative is the other wax I stated in this video, Fusso Coat. That's a tough wax and will last even longer!

@@focusondetailing3855 I love collinite products. If you do proper maintenance with a spray-on wax every month the collinite 845 will last for about 6 months. I recently started using the 915 by collinite and it lasts a little longer than the 845 but it's a little harder to apply. My secret now is to start with a clean surface and use the 915 and use the 845 for the wheels and the trim. Then after 24 hours I apply a hybrid sealant by turtle Wax. This stuff altogether makes your paint pretty much bulletproof. I went through the past New England winter with it and the beads and the shine I still have are crazy.

Hello from Chicago. Pan and Obsessed dialed me onto Colinite 845 combined with Jescar PowerLock (I recently switched to UltraLock). Phenomenal results. I have an orange 2000 Porsche scheduled for April, 2023. I spoke to the Colinite rep and will use their Colinite 945. The Porshe owner said he had ceramic coating applied by a detailer last year. I haven’t seen the car, yet, but owner said it has swirls on it. Sounds like the detailer didn’t prep the surface. Either way, owner said he wants CARBUBA and that’s what he’s going to get. Did you ever work with Colinite 915?
@mirafone1

Advise, will applying this to black plastic trim cause discoloration? And though not included in this video, would Powerlock+ cause a discoloration on the same parts?

I am very lazy so is it okay just apply this after the wash?no polishing or claybaring.
@Lonewolf_rider
@Lonewolf_rider 5 лет назад
Yes you can do that! Claying and polishing is just for correcting the paint and more shine overall. In your case the 845 will still protect.

@kenlawton1531
@kenlawton1531 6 лет назад
It's far superior to Bowdens Carnouba, particularly in durability, 845 lasts several months, BO Carnouba, as a stand alone, would be lucky to last 1 or 2 months and even less in the hot Aussie sun.

How much water to apc did you use for stripping old waxes and sealants? I'm trying to find a safe way to strip the old off my car. Also what brand of apc did you use?

I'm a shocker for measurements and ratios haha but I usually add around 60-80ml to my 1ltr foam cannon on top of the water and soap mixture. I used to use Bowden's Own Orange Agent but now since having my own products (AUTORAZ) I use my APC in the mix

Should i still do the clay bar process with a brand new off the lot vehicle, before applying sealants/wax? Thanks.
@focusondetailing3855
@focusondetailing3855 3 года назад
It's not something that should be done as frequently as it may seem. If the paint work feels rough (unlikely in that case) or there's existing waxes or sealants that you're wanting removed then a claying is great. A strip wash may be more beneficial before applying a new protective layer. Thanks for commenting!

It's recommended to avoid them as I don't know what the long term affects could be if it did come in contact with them and they don't specifically say it's okay to do so. Best bet is to stay with the appropriate plastic and rubber protective coatings
