Colnago Paint Process 

A year later I do own a Colnago - it is a 1990's Tecnos and, even though I also own plenty of more modern bikes that cost more, it is quite simply the nicest bike I have ever ridden.

I don't own a Colnago, but thats the sort of video that makes me wish I did.

This is just amazing. The Geo paint job continues to be talked about over and over.

I have few questions related to paint job 1. Why heat gun is used over masking decal before actual paint job 2 . The frame is baked in an oven without removing the masking paper/ decals. Wont that decal melt in an oven ?

Beautiful bikes. Never got to ride one. But I'm in Arkansas and I've only seen one in person. It was a steel frame maybe 10years old but looked really nice.

Top end Giant and Trek are by far the best road bikes, by a mile, but these just look class, amazing to be honest.

I have Colnago President Leonardo di Vinci, all my silver Colnago Decals have faded from silver to black...how is that possible?? My husband also has a Colnago President and his letter are also slowly starting to fade. How can we get our bikes fixed/restored to their original glory?

Do they paint all their artwork and graphics on, no decals? There's nothing like watching your decals age and flake off. :)

Love Colnago's, are the best, with the best pedigree in my books but the company seriously needs to take stock of where it is going with the mass market ones. I saw one in a shop window and it just had huge awful stickers instead of a fantastic paint job, massively damaging to the prestige of owning one. ok, get them made in Taiwan / China but make sure you keep up some level of fancy paintwork else your reputation will be in tatters.

Colnago doesn't offer the great paint programs they once did maybe because they only make 2 or 3 models in house the rest are from Asia. I wish they would manufacture the other carbon models in house. A monocoque carbon frame is so much better than a lugged one in almost every area.

Have you guys considered using smaller guns (like 0.5/0.8) for painting and clearcoating? Would there be less paint wastage?
