Do not worry, we shall rebuild it again like before Except the bell tower, that one's surely unstable for visitors to come inside 31/7/22: Take back what I said, my father works in the Municipality of Bantay, and he said that they can repair the damage, even refurbished the whole thing again, and they'll start from the top dome of the tower, which said it was the weakest

The quake struck the most remote and least populated part of Luzon island, hence the low casualty. When a 7.1 magnitude quake hit a bigger town in 1990, 10,000 people died. If a similar intensity quake hit manila, no doubt 100,000 people will die because buildings in the Philippines have no seismic requirements. 4 dead is very light given the circumstances
@thelast9112
@thelast9112 Год назад
THERE IS seismic requirements, its just that people often bypass those to cut costs, like residential building and some commercial buildings. And also there are a lot of old building that aren't up to standard. Plus the slums.
@loryasis7837
@loryasis7837 Год назад
How many people read your comments and were mislead? This is not true at all. Buildings w/ 3 storey and above are required to submit seismic analysis when getting building permit. That's why it's important to follow plan specifications made by the engineers. Problem is, contractors or home owners do not follow the plans. For example, there is a specified strength of concrete for beams and columns on structural plans, but it is rarely followed during construction. Either there is no professional who supervise or they tighten the budget. Of course high rise blgs are riskier so they're very careful in following the plans.

Please report this guy for misinformation. You are either misinformed or you know nothing at all. Almost every week there is an earthquake in Philippines that ranges from 4-5 magnitude and twice a year for 6-7 magnitude. Have you heard every year great toll of casualties and damages of the earthquake? Last year Mindanao was hit 7 as well but no one televised it internationally because there were no casualties. Search before you post nonsense.
@kiane9465
@kiane9465 Год назад
Civil Engineering student here. There is a seismic requirement with a huge amount of factor of safety. It’s actually the 1990 Earthquake that prompts massive overhaul to the code. Pretty sure all buildings built after the NSCP 2010 and 2015 can withstand a high-magnitude quake/ strong typhoon winds.

How could you say that, just incase u don't know "earthquake" is a very natural disaster/calamity, nobody knows when it will gonna happen, it's nothing to do with the sabah issue.
