As a true summer, i used to use these tips instinctively before i found color analysis. I would wear black and then do black wing eyeliner, black mascara, and red lips. This video makes me want to try those tips again. Thanks!

Excellent ideas. I'm a "no black" kind of gal. When my hair was platinum, I loved wearing black and white. The contrast was there. I think I'm a soft summer now.

I also try to wear warmer softer blacks as an autumn. Dyed all of my black stuff with a brown dye to make the black a tad warmer and softer while keeping it black

When I wear a black top I make sure to leave a lot of skin showing (a deep V neck not a turtleneck) around my face. And I also pump up my makeup, darker eyes/bolder lip. Mixing it with pops of your best color (it could be brown, it could be blue, it could be pink or red) like a scarf or jacket or jewelry or hat.

I'm pretty content with Chocolate & Navy as a replacement for black. I look amazing in those colors. I've never really missed black as a Autumn. However.... I have really enjoyed putting ivory and Black together, it works for me. Ivory sweater with cute black skirt and black boots with some delicate gold accessories. Looks very dressy.

Lots of helpful tips here. Black can be tricky for the warm seasons. As a Spring, I have found that deep /clear Vs faded black works best. Also, bright shiny silver jewelry vs muted- almost tarnished- silver is better. However 99% of the time I wear gold.. How about a video about choosing the right self tanner according to warm vs cool skin tones, with maybe some examples of brands to try?

Probably the most obvious, successful way for most of us who are not Winters to wear black is to wear it on the bottom with our brightest or lightest colour in our season on the top. And there's also black in accessories, such as shoes and bags.

Comment/question: When I was in my 20's, 30's & 40's, I had dark ash hair along with my dominant blue eyes and ivory skin. Then I rocked black and strong clear colors. Now in my late 60's, black has recently become too harsh but navy works beautifully. My natural hair color is now 50% medium ash and 50% white according to my stylist who does color well even if I choose not to use her skills. When I asked her, she immediately said "You are cool. You have no warm tones." I wear a pixie that shows off the genetic gift of that white hair on my crown. While I love my new palette, what would you suggest if I had to wear a black dress on stage as a choir uniform, the only time navy would be inappropriate? Statement black fashion cheaters came to mind.

How healthy is it to put eyeliner on your inner eye? I would never do that.
