In this video, I do flip throughs of several color palette books and demonstrate using an app which helps to determine the corresponding colored pencil and/or marker that matches each color you want in that particular color palette. Many brands are included in this app such as the various types of Copic markers, Blick brush markers, Prismacolor markers, Prismacolor colored pencils, Polychromos, etc.

Hi thank you for this video. I struggled finding a good book about palettes. You can use the coolors app together with the marker match to make your own colour palettes and identify Prismacolor pencils with it. I find this useful.

Hi Lisa, omgoodness just started watching your video's a few weeks ago and wow you have such great information. So far I have downloaded a few apps bought the Jane Strother The Coloured Pencil Artist's Pocket Palette used lol and Color Inspirations: And downloaded the Marker Match app. I found that it's not only going to help with color choices but with quilting as well. Thank you, Lisa, for all the information you offer and with the markers as well. I want to start buying them for my Mandela color books.

Hi Lisa, I actually do already have the App, but I did not dig deep enough to find all these different brands of pens/pencils listed in them. Thank you sooo much for this video; it opened a whole new world for me. And as I also own the Color Catalog, my options are endless now.

Hi Lisa... I use Arty and I will get this one too! I have actually used the ap because I forgot to write down the colors I used in a WIP so I took picture of my page and it told me the colors I was using!!! Love it! Thanks for the info and books!

Jennifer Creek ....I seem to do this more and more as I tend to get busy and have to rush and put away my pencils and page that I am working on....you can also pick out a color palette that you like and do the same thing and it will tell you the colors you need so you don’t have to waste time by swatching to find the best shade etc. :)

Has anyone found a similar app for Samsung/Android? This particular is not available and I'm not sure what to search for to find something similar. Great video Lisa.

Amy Sue West thank you. 😊 I did hear from others that this is not available for Android. Boo!!! I unfortunately have not heard of a comparable app for Android. Guess you’ll have to buy an iPhone or iPad just for this app. Lol.

Lisa, what if the color suggested doesn’t really look like the color from the picture? Do you try it anyway? I’m just not sure what to do.

Jennifer Creek you could possibly pick one of the others suggested. Or, yah, maybe just try it as there may not be an exact match for that particular coloring medium in that color.

I'm looking to the book colored pencil artist's pocket Palette, the current numbers of faber castell polycromos. can someone help me with the 36 colors listed at the beginning of the book.

Lisa's Coloring Corner in the book are the old numbers of prismacolor. I would need the current comparables from Polycromos. I was able to find some, but not all. I would be interested in which one comes closest or is comparable of the color tones. can you help me there? I'm still relatively new to drawing and don't yet have an eye for color and recognize the exact nuances.
