Colorado Springs parking meters steal money and time from customers to generate revenue
My Reply to the Colorado Springs Municipal Court:
So the "Enforcement Officer" cited the wrong vehicle corresponding to the meter...and put the ticket on the wrong vehicle? I have issued over 10,000 1408 citations when I was a military police officer and not once did I get the wrong vehicle.
So let me get this right...
I paid $3.25 for 2 hours 28 minutes of parking and the City of Colorado Springs steals that money and remaining time from customers and then has the audacity to ticket tax payers when time runs out even though there was 1 hour and 23 minutes remaining on that meter.
Did that green Saturn that parked in the stall after me get cited for expired meter even though there should have been 1 hour 20+ minutes on the parking meter? Wow what a money grab. I call that theft of a service I paid for.
What would have happened if I paid with coins? What if I did not cover my a$$ and record everything? It would have been my word against his...and guess who the court always sides with in these situations

I believe there may be sensors that remove time when a vehicle pulls out of the parking spot. This question may be better answered by the Parking System Enterprise. Their contact information is on ColoradoSprings.gov/parking-system-enterprise.

My Reply to the Colorado Springs Municipal Court:
That still does not explain what happened to the 1 Hour 20+ minutes of time which was still remaining on the meter when I left the stall at 09:35AM. And 3 minutes I went around the block, pulled next to the stall at 09:38AM and the meter was 0 Hours 0 Minutes.

Mr. xxxxxxx,
In my research of the meter activity on 10/26/21 I see that Meter number TM425 had a credit card transaction at 8:28 AM for $3.25 for 2 hours and 28 minutes. (Last 4 numbers on credit card XXXX)
The ticket was written for Meter number TM424. TM424 shows a credit card transaction at 9:05 for $3.25. The ticket was written at 8:29, so it looks like the meter that the ticket was written for did not have any time on it at the time of the ticket.
I have dismissed the ticket because you did pay for parking at 8:28 for 2 hours and 28 minutes.
Sincerely,
Crystal Grady,
Court Referee

3000 smart parking meters in Colorado Springs
Average person parks for about 1 hour but pays for 2 hours.
Colorado Springs is stealing $1.50 per hour Monday thru Saturday 7am to 10pm...that is 15 hours per day. Stealing about $22.50 per day per smart parking meter.
3000 * 22.5 = Approximately $67500 per DAY stolen from tax payers.
And someone posted on Facebook they don't see what the City of Colorado Springs did wrong???
Timeline:
08:26AM - Arrive at parking stall @ 270 S.Tejon
08:28AM - Pay with a credit card $3.25 ($1.50 per hour clearly displayed on the parking meter) (2 HOURS 28 Minutes displayed on parking meter)(I take a photo of the parking meter)
08:29AM - M. Clinton #7294 CSPD writing a fraudulent parking citation while I was 50 feet away walking towards 270 S. Tejon even though he clearly saw me pay with a credit card AND take a photo of the parking meter!!! wow how stupid is this guy.
08:30AM - I walk into the court house @ 270 S. Tejon
09:31AM - Leave 270 S. Tejon court house building
09:33AM - Check the parking meter before I got into my truck. (1 HOUR 23 Minutes displayed on parking meter)
I spent 1 HOUR and 5 Minutes inside the court house
(2.28 - 1.05 = 1 HOUR 23 Minutes remaining on the parking meter.)
09:35AM - Noticed the fraudulent citation on my windshield...said a few choice words.
09:36AM - I drive around the block, back to the same parking spot I had left @ 09:35AM
09:38AM - Pull in beside the parking stall I was parked in and checked the parking meter
09:38AM - Take another picture of the parking meter which now reads 0 HOURS 0 Minutes
