The moment the cops turn off an indivduals camera, they should be suspended. They have no legal right to do so, unless they wish to hide what happens next.

Generally you can say the police have a pathologically need to feel obeyed . Makes no difference if the police command is ridiculous or even illegal, refusal to obey and/or questioning an officer sets them off psychologically. At that point, many police forgot what is legal and try to meet their psychological need to be in control and be obeyed. This should be an important subject to discuss in basic police training while in the academy.

I used to tell people I had this happen to me in Houston all the time because I look Hispanic (Dad is American Indian) and often called "Boy" or "Spic" before the days of cell phone cameras, etc. Most people didn't believe me because this could never happen and these days there is plenty of proof on the internet.

I lived in Colorado for 10 years. I got pulled over by cops for the most petty reasons.. like walking down the street and a cop pulled me over because he said I looked “suspicious” and questioned where I was going and where I came from. Cops in Colorado will give you a ticket for J-walking.

That is assault and abuse of power. These cops need to be fired and never allowed to work for the public.

When you're targeting a certain demograph of people, it's not from a lack of training. The cops are behaving exactly how they train each other to perform these stops. It's a pretextual stop and from there it's a fishing expedition. What's their reasonable suspicion? Two black males driving slowly thru their neighborhood. Sounds pretty ordinary and mundane. But that's how much leeway they allow themselves. They can turn any ordinary thing into some kind of reasonable suspicion, in their eyes. They're trained to write their reports with all the jargon to make it look official and on the level. The sad truth is once they've laid their eyes on you, your going to be criminally charged with something. If they absolutely can't find anything, they'll just arrest you for resisting arrest, because you might pull back knowing that you've done nothing wrong. But that slight movement of your hand away from theirs will get you a resisting charge. Which should be impossible to get, if there's no legal reason for the arrest in the first place. And sometimes they'll throw in obstruction too, just for more aggravation. Cops need oversight and need to be held accountable. The law should apply to everybody.

Even after retiring, your "good ol' boy's" club membership is still active. I am quite certain that treatment would never happen to that white man and his brother.

The more senior a cop becomes the less he remembers about the law. If senior cops did there job and really cared about there jobs, junior cops wouldn’t screw up so much. Your supervisor should not be your friend he should be your teacher.

Some years ago. An officer stop me for no reason. I asked him while he stopped me. He got to yelling at me. . Get out the car. I never been in no trouble He had the dogs in the car looking for drugs. I don't like taking doctor medicine. He didn't find nothing. I had no warrant. I was in my way to the hospital because I was sick.

Like I always say "the further the police are away from me the better I am" and I'm a law-abiding citizen!

The number of citizens doing nothing wrong being killed by officers is more than the other way around. The police want you to believe that being is a dangerous profession but in comparison to many jobs it is safe. The main injury to police are traffic accidents and suicide. Police departments are required to provide statistics on the civilian shootings by police but largely ignore that requirement. Furthermore police have near immunity from actions taken on duty so even if there is no reasonable justification for police violence Al they have to say is they felt threatened. That is a standard that a civilian would be hard pressed to use as a defense.

these are ridiculous situations. to be able to ask for identification at a traffic stop, the stop HAS TO BE lawful. so the driver has to be stopped for a trafficoffense, if not, then the driver does not have to present papers (as long as it is not an 'stop and ID-state). then again, cops do not HAVE TO present the reason for the stop and demand ID untill later and this makes the whole thing ridiculous and extremely contradictory

The Police Chief has told his men to act aggressively at all costs. The City Mayor and Judge are in on it also.
