📍 East Fork Middle Pole Creek - Lime Creek
We finally made it to the San Juans, and I am damn happy to be here! The scenery just keeps getting better and better. Back in Lake City we were told that we may cross paths with sheep, but they forgot to mention just how many sheep there were. 🐑 I’d say close to 500! Totally made my day! We said goodbye to Pickles and Andrew when they hopped on the Silverton-Durango train to exit the trail, while Giddy Up and I continued to Molas Lake.
With stormy weather in the forecast the entire week, we were unsure if we could make the miles we needed to. We were able to resupply at Molas Lake for the few days stretch to Durango, but the weather had us doubting ourselves.
