I love the efficiency of having colored clay just on the outside of the piece because you don't to mix up as much colored clay. Allowing you to make more pieces with less preparation and you can glaze the inside in non-clear glazes without a 2nd thought. It's always on my mind when I think about what to glaze marbled clay with

The "experiments" are yielding some great results. "Laminating" the marbled clay, instead of using a a solid chunk is a brilliant idea. Keep going with the carved textures as well, especially the handles. You may want to try magic water for your handle joins, at least with the marbled clay, as it won't "muddy" the colors when attaching. One thing about the video doesn't make sense. You live in Minnesota, it's barely Spring, and you are *that* tan...

Love the laminated colors on the outside. Something cool would be to use a solid color on the inside and then the mixed on the outside!

Back in the late 80's I worked in a local popular Pizza House. We had a dough roller. I think you should see one and whether or not it would be beneficial for you to own n use. Just a thought! 💡👍

Ever try throwing with nerikomi patterns? Make the clay composites from geometrically cut and assembled pieces. Could be interesting.

Gorgeous! Out of curiosity, what do you do with the cuttings from the colored pieces? Do you reclaim them? It seems like that could either be very interesting for the reclaimed clay, or make a muddy colored mess.

Great video! I was just wondering how do you recycle this clay? Or do you just have to live with all the colours mixing?

I dont believe there is a good way of recycling colored clay so im pretty sure its just thrown out. Unless you recycle each individual color clay separately and not putting all the colors together. Ive never personally worked with colored clay but this is what ive heard.
