if you can, add a bit of the dye to your conditioner and let it sit in while you shower(longer the better) it helps as a short hair mask and also puts dye back into your hair and keeps it in longer
Now that I have pink/lavender gray hair I highly recommend using a no-poo or low-poo method when washing your hair. Yes, you shouldn't wash your hair too often, dyed or not, and depending how damaged your hair is you can try a "no shampoo". So each day u can just rinse with water. At the end of the week your hair will be quite greasy, and that is where you clarify it. The low-poo method is better for severely damaged hair, and for that you just use mild shampoos. Doing the no-poo method makes more sense for severely damaged hair, but because of the pH of your scalp and hair cuticle, its too fragile and weak to do so.
I have red semi permanent hair and today is my first wash day (it's been a week since I dyed it) I'm so sad Bc it's gonna be so hard to maintain the color! Lol
I had dyed my hair blue before, and it didn't hold up well so I looked for ways to keep it healthy. When I saw your hair was blue I decided to watch yours and it is the best on I have found so far Tip: coconut oil has brought my hair back to its smooth normal texture 1tablespoon throughout you whole had one a week until it is back to normal
I love Pravana's hair dye! I have the wild orchid and red in my hair and I haven't dyed it in like two months and it still looks pretty decent. I'm very happy with Pravana.
You and your hair are beautiful..... i also just dyed my hair a teal color so im looking at your video to look at how I can take care of my hair..... thank you for making this video!!! Again, you’re super beautiful!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
So my parents are SUPER strict when it comes to hair color and cuts They've NEVER EVER let me die or cut my hair super short! But when I was little I decided I didn't want bangs because I've always had bangs. For th longest time I've always wanted blue hair and the other day they were bribing me to get bangs again. So I asked "if I get bangs can I dye my hair?" And they said yes!!! Although I only get to dye the ends of my hair IM STILL SO EXCITED!!! I'm gonna talk my dad into letting me bleach it so it doesn't turn into a dirty green color but I'm so excited!! I'm gonna dye my hair blue!!! I've always liked blue hair! ANnd this video really helps!!😀😊
Your hair is gorgeous! I recommend using a slightly less moisturizing shampoo on your roots to reduce the oil. I also use an extremely moisturizing shampoo and only wash my roots and every other shampoo or so I use a cheap drug store shampoo. It has helped a lot with my oily scalp but my hair is still healthy and moisturized.
If you like curling your hair you can do the finger curls and sleep on them, in the morning you will have pretty curls that you can comb through and really define. I used to do that but when I cut my hair short I couldn't do it anymore. : ( Good thing I came across your video, I'm about to dye my hair using ION Brights Magenta, Sky Blue and Neon Cyan... When I had red hair I followed the same regimen, cool water to wash with, washed my hair maybe twice a week, used dry shampoo in between days to keep it looking extra nice. lol. Forget swimming in the river though... ugh! Missed that! Thanks for this informative video!
these tips were really helpful! i actually just dyed my hair (not a crazy colour just brown hahah) and i need to now get a sulphate free colour friendly shampoo
Hey Stephanie! Thank you for this video :) I come from France and every time you release a video, I feel very excited to watch it, because your videos are just flawless and so inspiring ! Thank you so much! Love from Paris
wow thank you for the dry shampoo tip! I found a way to use natural purple dye and it stays longer as compare to using manic panic product. The purple dye product I have been using is Iodine solution.
You are very daring and super awesome! Very few people have the courage and the beauty to wear this look. It is your birthright to shine, so don't let insecure people ruin your day with mean comments. You can't please everybody but you please the right people if you are yourself. I love u :-)
I love your hair! Never seen a better blue ombre! To give your length some moisture try argan oil! It is natural and freakin moisturizin! I use it every two weeks after washin my hair and it really makes a difference!
i have bright red hair and omg i thought i was the only person that washes their hair like that haha it's such a struggle but i love my colour so yeah.. love your hair btw xx
I adore your hair! The colour is beautiful. lol @ when you said "looks like a smurf is dying" My hair is completely frazzled from bleaching and colouring...have no idea what to do it anymore! It was good to see a video on how you manage your hair and what products you use :)
And also, wash it with cold water! Hot water fades out the color so much! When I had mine dyed pink, I only saw the dying washing out with the water when it was hot.
I dyed my hair blue about a month ago and the biggest problem i had is that it would stain aaaall my clothes, even when my hair was completely dry. my hair has faded a ton and is a sort of green, but most of the color is out yet my clothes still get stained sometimes. I want to dye my hair blue again but I don’t want my clothes to get ruined, anyone have tips on how to prevent clothes from being stained?
Im experiencing that with arctic fox dye but i didn't get that problem with sky blue in ion colors or adore semi dye 😊 so it can just be the semi dye it self hope i helped lol
You can add conditioner to your colored part to protect it while applying shampoo to your scalp, the conditioner will help it to be clean and the color will still vibrant :)
I also had blue/purple ombre, too but had to dye it back to brown for a wedding but yes thanks for the tips. I am so bad I have not been keeping them when I had that hair color and it turned green....=_=...
just discovered your channel :) but i have blue hair too and when i finally wash my hair i mix the color with my conditioner and leave it in for about 3min and it keeps it vibrant and pigmented still.
Hi SoothingSista ! Thank you for your tips. I still have questions, moreso about how frequently can I color my hair before I should start to worry about damaging it? How does that work, exactly (does the damage add up each time it's done, or is it ok as long as you're not doing it every week?). I like my hair super dark and bright colors, but since I have extremely oily scalp I have to wash it carefully, daily. My hair usually looks significantly lighter after 4 days, and cellophane in a week.
Thanks so much for this video and tips as my friend who happened to be hair stylist neglected to tell me this.. 😒. So most of my blue ombre teal came off-on the outer layer part of my hair anyways...T^T.
I had the exact same problem of the colour dropping out of my hair when I had bright candy apple red hair. It was like a massacre everytime I had a shower.
I dyed my hair three months ago and I used to don't wash my hair, but now I just can't my color is going, but anyway. I had it pink now is super pale pink and gonna dye it violet.
Hey Stephanie why don't you use a turby cap in the shower and only wash your hair in like a sink with a sprayer? That way you could control how much water gets on your hair and scalp.
I love love love this haircolor so much! Been thinking about getting something like this as well, like a dark blue.. My natural hair is kind of weird though, it's dry and doesn't have the same color on all parts (sorry for my english) but do you guys think I could still dye my hair a color like this, can I get it to look even? Because my natural hair is like brown in some parts and then almost blonde in ither parts lol. So I'm afraid it would just look weird.
It's soooo hard to wash my hair with cold water! I think I need to get one of those removable shower heads maybe that'll be easier 🙈 I've been wanting to try pret a powder forevs! Need to pick that up ASAP! I have the hardest time with dry shampoos!! None of them work for me 😞
I'm asian, so black hair ofc, and i'm thinking of getting a blue ombre like yours, but only one color.. I'm too scared to bleach it, i have virgin, strong, but sooo many layers in my hair.
