I am so impressed how fast you mastered leca. It feels like your first video on RU-vid was only a few days ago. I absolutely adore your cat...so cute!

I feel that the dye is indeed clogging the pores more than the regular LECA and I think (hope) that with these pebbles we might have to let them soak for a longer period just to make sure there are completely water saturated.

That’s what I’m thinking too❤️

I cant believe you let your thai constellation be outside!!! especially as its getting cold! im so scared to do anything with my expensive plants. i admire your courage for letting it be the guinea pig i hope you try some more plants with the brockytony that are soaked and rinsed beforehand. i usually soak ALL my leca for 24 hours to leech out some of the mineral content and dust.

Hi Rachel, I love your videos and half of my plants have been transitioned to LECA thanks to you! No deaths so far either! Winter is coming and I wanted to ask: do you continue to feed your plants through winter or do you just give them water?
@prettyinplants9580
@prettyinplants9580 3 года назад
Hi Tammy-thank you! Yes, I feed them...if I start noticing white crust on the top layer of LeCA...I back off to half dose of normal nutrients, but so far, they are still at full amount

Well, if the colour is water proof and is covering the outside of leca how the water is getting in? There response doesn't make any sense. I've heard that the colour leca is not wicking and you just confirm it. Love it🥰

The outside of the clay balls is not completely covered with paint, this would of course close the pores. Instead, a special dyeing process is used to keep the pores open. This allows water to still soak into the clay balls. The fact that the paint is water resistant is another characteristic. The colour stays where it is and does not come off when the plant is watered.

This helps a lot! And makes a little more sense as to why the Canadians are having no issue
@SemihydroponicswithSma
@SemihydroponicswithSma 3 года назад
@@brockytonygmbh72 definitely makes sense, but that means that the wicking capacity it will be reduced the same with the quantity of water that is absorbed?

I bought colored Lecca and everything I put in it dies. The regular brown kind has been fine…. Any idea why?

I really want to ask you, do you mix Perlite with Leca only for your Thai Constellation or all plants? I just moved my Monstera Albo from soil to Leca today and one of the leaves are curling downwards already eventhough I put her in damp Leca and without a reservoir. I decided to pour some water over the Leca later the same day to see if she would perk up but sadly no. Would it ve better to mix Perlite in with the Leca for this plant you think?

May times they look sad at the beginning, but you need to give them time to dry out-I use volcanite and perlite on all of my plants
