Sorry, this commenting-thing is a stupid thing but...😂Lisa, it is beautyful as always😍 I want to tell you I really love the way you "teach" on RU-vid and of course your art and especially the animals 🐯 and I'm just in love with the contrast, detail and especially the backgrounds but I just can't get this result😕 because my parents don't aloud me to use the paint thinner because it's toxic and i work in the room where I sleep too so...(I'm just 14 years old😅)😧 and I could not find an other thing for this which is also availabel in Germany 😦 by the way the tip with the conturing-thing is so cool👍will you work on some projects in whatercolorpencil in the near future?* *just have to tell that my English is not that good so...😂

Zest-it Pencil Blend is non toxic, it blends pencils like other paint thinners and it's available in Europe. You can safely use this in your room :)

Is that Powder Blender just a makeup tool or are you putting something on it to blend?

The product is called Colored Pencil Powder Blender (by Brush and Pencil). It is a very light powder that can be applied by sponge or brush to smooth/blend the pencil coloring.

Love you videos and your art. One question you say that the Pablo pencils are “wax based” and you only use them for the end with your roses. I have researched this and the Pablo’s are oil based. So could you clarify this. Did you mean the Caran Darch Luminence which are wax? Thanks for all your art tips and sharing:)

All of these colored pencils have both wax and oil. It's a matter of how much in each that artists will refer to as wax or oil. The companies themselves are FULL of misinformation on this. If you talk to one person they will insist they are oil, the next rep for the company will insist the opposite. As for pablos, they are considered to be wax based by users. It all gets really confusing when the manufacturers can't seem to decide what they consider their product to be. Another pencil company was asked about their pencils being oil based and the representative told the person "I don't know where people get that idea from. They're not oil based, they're wax!" ...uh, we got it FROM YOUR OWN WEBSITE! Which still declares that pencil as oil based.

Beautiful!!! And so many great informations! Wanted to ask, do you prefer the Uart paper or fisher400? I have been using uart600 and sometimes also while using a very light touch the grainy look remains, hard to blend. Thank you!

I realy need help! I was so excited getting the powder blender so I can draw my portraits with it. Now I have it but it doesn't blend so smoothly like in your drawings Lisa! What am I doing wrong? I'm working on the canson Mi-Teintes Touch paper, using polychromos and spraying the textured fixative after every soft layer of pencil. I'm so sad now, because I live in Europe and payed way to much money for shipping :(. Please can anyone help???? In Lisas Portrait it looks SO SMOOTH! I want that result too. Even on my firdt layer of pencil it looks very uneven! And I'm getting not very much pigments on my paper, because I'm not pushing hard so I can blend. But Lisa is getting so much Color in her first layer on that paper ! I don't get it. The Fisher paper is not shipping to where I live, because of that I'm using the Canson one. On the website of brush and pencil they say that my paper would work for the powder blender. Please I realy need help. Thanks

Actually, I just saw this come up on another video. You layer a few layers of final fixative, letting each layer dry first before adding another. After that, you lay down a layer of the blender before drawing.

@lachrifineart hi! I tried to ask this in the live stream of the video but because of the text limit I wasn't able to fully explain what I was saying so I'll try again here. So you say that if you spray the texture fixative over you layers it kinda seals them Down so when you blend next time it won't mess with the colors sealed down. My question was if that method could be applied with workable fixative and colored pencil specially if you use mineral spirits to blend. If I spray workable fixative over every couple of layers will that keep them "sealed"and keep them from lifting when I blend with mineral spirits again. haha see why I couldn't really explain in the livestream

I think the mineral spirits would just 'wash' the spray fixative away. Because she is using a powder blender here and not liquid, the method works better with the spray. You could seal over parts that have been blended with mineral spirits but probably not blend them again with the mineral spirits, only add finer detail and burnish another way that doesn't require the spirits.
