YES, I can easily imagine the statue singing under the right conditions. There could be a small cavity that resonates when the air pressure, temperature and density were just right. Restoring these really invokes our imagination to the Majesty, Splendor, and Mystery of this ancient empire. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR INCREDIBLE WORKS 🌻💕👀💖😀😻👍🌻💞💘💖🩶🖤💜🤎💚🧡❤️😺 P.S. I was right...YOU'VE BEEN BUSY🎉 The colors are GOLDEN, BEAUTIFUL and they match your hair.

Statue superstition has always been popular. In the 19th century, locals said the remaining Maidens of the Erechtheion (Athens) were often heard crying for their fallen sister (after Elgin had taken one).

Sometimes I hope an ancient starfaring, highly advanced culture will reveal itself to us and a as a "Thank you!" for us presenting our human history to them they will restore those ancient marvels to their full glory before they leave back to their home planet.

I would assume they did make sound, depending on whats and how its all setup and the Wind hits it, sure it can make sound. If i get enough speed up on my bike my earrings would whistle . Considering they were skilled enough to make all of this... i would expect they were smart enough to make things create sound .
@ancientsitesgirl
@ancientsitesgirl Год назад
this was probably a consequence of damage to the colossi after the earthquake. The Ptolemies erected statues that made loud sounds, apparently there were four of them at the lighthouse on Faros!

There is the theory that natural gas was escaping under the foundations, but the hole in the ground was stopped by the Roman renovation.

Very interesting video Irena, I totally agree with CatMan about the resonance, even perhaps the type of stone it is could cause the noise to travel far. I wonder if it has magnetic properties?! Magnetics can amplify sound vibrations, something that size would sound tremendous. Do you ever check for magnetic anomalies? Thanks AncientSitesGirl 🧡🧡🧡

Ritual mantras and singing were common practice amongst ancient civilisations. Believing it was the time to connect to the cosmos and speak with Gods for knowledge and guidance.

It's true, it's just a pity that Amenhotep built mud brick pylons, the flooding of the Nile ruined this temple the most...

I’ve always been confused on whether or not these statues were originally one piece? If they were, I’m surprised they were destroyed by an earthquake so badly
@ancientsitesgirl
@ancientsitesgirl Год назад
One of them must have broken when falling on the pylons, the Romans could have cut it during renovation, besides, the colossi were always exposed, deliberate vandalism explains their condition
@jesseleesamples
@jesseleesamples Год назад
@@ancientsitesgirl So originally they were one piece? I’ve read elsewhere that they were poorly restored in the past, and I’m sure vandalism played some role too
