It is impossible to make sense of the world without taking into the equation the Biblical truth that the present world has fallen and is occupied by an evil kingdom that wages constant battles against God, His people, and His creation.
Yet Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has defeated these spiritual authorities and exposed them to open shame by triumphing over them through the cross and His resurrection. Christ is victorious and so are those who belong to Him, by His grace and His work of redemption.
We as Christians must be aware that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against these powers, and that our victory Has been already won on the cross of Calvary by our conquering, risen King and Saviour - Jesus Christ.

2. God in Christ has defeated the evil powers for us.
