Thank you. This is the clearest video I have seen on the SpyderCheckr.

I have the SpyderCheckr. Its colors are not accurate. The problem is that it makes presets and not profiles. I did a test where I sent an image to the Datacolor software using the Adobe Standard profile and sent the same image with the Camera Faithful profile. The resulting presets gave me different hues when, theoretically, they should have adjusted to the same hue in relation to the camera profile I used. The X-rite Color Checker makes actual camera profiles.

What's ur colorspace work in camera : Adobe or sRGB ? And then in your software : is it the same ? If you work on a standard PC monitor it should be sRGB by default, so as your soft.

what would be the first steps in these process: correcting the photo with color checker or adding lightroom preset first?

Thank you for sharing this informative video. I understand the importance of true colour of our photos and videos. I have to admit I could not follow the basis you were adjusting the colour of the photo using the colour template in Photoshop. It appeared to me it was your experience/preference on how much to adjust individual colour instead of some well known methodology or tool used in the photography profession. Please illustrate this in a follow-up video how much of each colour to adjust to match with the colour template and how to check the selected adjustments are near 99% to the template colour palettes. Thanks.

No problem with how you've adjusted the white balance but if your monitor isn't correctly calibrated then using the Spyder Checkr like that isn't going to give you correctly calibrated images. Some monitors are way off.

Couldn’t of said it better myself, monitor calibration is incredibly important especially when it comes to colour grading. I’m actually currently reviewing a monitor calibrator. That once I have reviewed it I will make a video talking about the pros and cons of using a monitor calibrator for photography editing

@@PhotoFeaver I'll be interested to see your video. Some monitors are beyond calibration - they just don't show enough of even the RGB colour space (admittedly more an issue in laptops). Keep doing the videos - your enthusiasm is always evident and it makes a refreshing change to watch something short and sweet!

So about the video work, u don't use vector scopes (it's not meant for it). Just the color picker, color wheels (& eyes) ? Or maybe also the integrated automatic tool in DaVinci.

Why not make a colour profile of checker and apply that?
@PhotoFeaver
@PhotoFeaver 3 года назад
That is definitely one way of doing it, but I have found sometimes that the skintones may be off if you just rely on the check it itself. Sometimes using the environment can help you get better results than just relying on the colours referenced in the colour checker
