I am fascinated by your thought process and creativity….just the way the shapes from your walk inspired the start of the sketchbook, and then how you’ve “sampled” from your own content. It’s amazing, really. And your color selection is fearless. I love it all. Your videos are inspiring, and I so appreciate you sharing your art and your thoughts with your community.
Wow Erika what a super lovely and encouraging message. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment. Thank you for your kindness. Helen x
Wow. I will be watching this again. Lots of really cool information to help artist. Thanks so much Helen. It’s always a joy to look at your journals. Beautiful inspiring work always. X
This was so helpful that I even took notes. Thank you for sharing and helping me to understand a bit more about color. I looooove your color sensibilities!
Helen, you always bring such a breath of fresh air and thoughts into my mailbox with your posts and videos. Hoping you have a wonderful holiday season and really enjoy your creative time off!!
Helen you inspire me! I have started a new sketchbook and although I do not copy your work I have acquired new felt tips and other useful products and I’m getting there. Keep up the good work, best wishes Lynda xxx
Hello Helen I always look forward to your RU-vid messages and as always this is so pleasing, I absolutely love your choice of colours and your drawings , shapes etc, lovely! I am always looking for new ideas for shapes and colours while out on our daily walk. That is Galen my therapy, companion dog and myself. I get many ideas from the gardens in their Spring colours and shapes. and beautiful sketchbook ideas. Hope this finds you well , Isabel
Thank you for sharing your process Helen! Beautiful as always. Would love to see a video of you painting! 💜 Oh! One question.....when you create a page in your sketchbook, do you sketch it out in pencil first? Or you just start right away with felt tip?
Love your sketchbook, you have a unique style and I love that. Can I ask what sketchbooks you use? They obviously take the felt tip pens well. So opposites on a colour wheel work well together?
Yes that's spot on Kel, Colours that are opposite each other on the colour wheel are often referred to as complimentary colours as they work so well together. they compliment each other... and colours that are next door to each other on the colour wheel are called harmonious because they also look good together xx
