For the last assignment in this CIJ adventure, I'm inviting you to find different ways of playing with fonts, text and wordage and bring them into your creations, using whatever media you enjoy working in. I'll be back next week to show you how I got on and throw down a challenge to create a final piece inspired by all the ideas we've gathered along the way during this project.

Your artwork is just amazing Annie! I laughed out loud when you said "I have lots of ideas and I'm sure you have too" and I shouted at the screen "No I don't!"😂

Thank you so much Linda! hehehe - my head never stops, honestly I wake up and go to sleep with ideas buzzing around, it drives me nuts sometimes. I think in future I will at least scribble them down in this journal so I don't forget them, or maybe I'll keep a little book by my bed .... I reckon if you're struggling to come up with an idea to work on, maybe you're thinking about it too much, don't try and find a big idea and think through how it will end up, just a tiny idea is enough to get started, then jump in, start working and see where it takes you. The outcome doesn't really matter in an art journal, you're just exploring ideas, which you can later use to inspire more finished pieces. That's how I look at it anyway. And take your time, there's no deadline, just take time to sit quietly and let your mind wander and see where it goes. Please keep sharing your creations in Discord, I love to see them xo

I’ve learnt so much from the CIJ so far Annie - I’m a bit sad that this little stage of the adventure is coming to an end but I’m excited about what’s next too and love that we have a little community where we can share our adventures and see others creations for inspiration and awe. I’m constantly impressed by how you can create with pen, ink and paint, and then have ideas of how you will translate to stitched pieces. You really are multi-talented. Thank you so much Sue, I'm flattered. I do love looking back through old journals for inspiration, get cross with myself when I can't remember how I did something though! I will definitely continue to keep a CIJ from now on so I don't forget ideas and how I worked things out :)

I think this was my favourite so far I love text in art as you might have guessed I'd photo copy your gorgeous pages and then make a collage, I'd print them on to fabric and then stitch them you've inspired me to did out my art journals I have lots from back in the day If anyone needs any tips using the photo fabric I use please shout up. I bought a huge haul of other peoples letters once and I still use them a lot in my work

Ah yes you are definitely the Queen of using text and collage in your work, I love your collaged fabrics - I'm going to have a go at something similar but using the freezer paper method with calico I think, as I have them already. Might also try some stamping or linocut printing straight onto fabric, with some of the motifs I've been working with earlier in the project, perhaps mixed with text. I am fair bursting with ideas, don't know which to do first :) xo

I’m so far behind, been ill with the dreaded Covid and have no energy at all. I’ll just be working mine much slower. Much, much slower.

No worries Kathy - there's no time limit with this project, so there's no such thing as behind, for me I will continue to gather ideas in my CIJ and use them to inspire future projects, so although there will only be one more video in this series, the adventure will go on, and you are always welcome to share any of your creations in the Discord and FB groups. Be gentle with yourself (hardest thing in the world to do, I know). Store up all the ideas for later use. There's no time limit on creativity. ❤
