Colourised Doctor Who | The Daleks' Master Plan | Babelcolour

To celebrate ten years on RU-vid I have remade an old favourite which was recommended in 'Doctor Who Magazine issue 430' but unfortunately removed many years ago. It contains some brand new shots seen here for the first time. Hand coloured in Photoshop, except for the shots of Brian Cant as Kert Gantry: they were done in collaboration with James Russell as an experiment back in 2005.

Fucking hell, as a Doctor Who fan of over 36 yrs I'm literally speechless. This is phenomenal colouring, we fans appreciate the time & effort involved in this. Top quality colouring, I'm literally lost for words.

I wish the BBC would pay for this to be done for entire stories (I wouldn't even say no to a little remastering to clean up fx or tighten editing). It truly enhances and shows off the effort that went into the original visuals. Stunning!

If I could time travel I'd bring back all the lost doctor who episodes and bring them to present (so not to cause a paradox).
@FatalDownpour
@FatalDownpour 8 лет назад
But in the present, they've been lost for years, so he could easily know to go back and get them. As long as he doesn't return before he left, there wouldn't be a paradox.
@DevilboyScooby
@DevilboyScooby 8 лет назад
Really though, which is more important, potentially destabilising the fabric of reality with a paradox, or recovering the missing episodes? I'd vote for the latter.

Well done, it's a shame only 1/4 of this serial exists. A 12-parter. With the exception of "The War Games", the show has never done anything quite like it. I'd like to see Doctor Who where an invasion of another planet lasts quite awhile and has the scope of this story.

I like the blue eyestalk lenzes of the daleks, makes it as the silver/blue dalek casings from 2015's the witch's familiar. I LIKE to think the daleks in the 60s were exactly the same casings as in 2015 only little less advanced.

Hi old grandpa here again from the Pat video. This is amazing. Looking at these clips actually take me back to when this first aired in 1965. Unfortunately I actually missed Episode 10, but it's a good thing that was one of the three prints the BBC actually decided to be bothered about. The memories of being lucky enough to see this back then. You've done a great job

+kaledmasterme I was a sub-contractor to Pete Crocker, who was contacted, as SVS, by DVD ranger producer Dan Hall to restore the episode for Pup Lt who was contracted to BBC Worldwide. To imagine I have any links to the BBC is like saying that the person who sold the potatoes used by a catering company subcontracted by Gatwick Airport actually works for British Airways.

+BabelColour not to be discourteous, but after your first reply I am well aware that you were not employed by the BBC. I am also a great admirer of your work, especially The Mind of Evil episode 1. -Biggest story for the first doctor. -Celebrates the first doctor era with many callbacks to his era. -Has his best performance overall in an episode in my opinion. -It's a space and time travel thriller, like the first doctor meets star wars. -It is a bit more like a 2nd doctor story which I like. -Best first doctor story in my opinion.

So what you're saying that this is a re-done version of the colourized clips of "The Master Plan" you provided for "The Dalek Tapes" when that was released in 2006? I've been a fan of your work on RU-vid for some time, but I've only just recently backtracked to the "official" colourizations you provided for the BBC like "The Mind of Evil", putting the pieces together of your career and connections with DW. Much applause.

They were meant to have been destroyed. There is always hope. Unused clips from 2001: A Space Odyssey was meant to have been destroyed, yet some turned up. There is always hope for The Feast of Steven.
@SamJonesPlatypus
@SamJonesPlatypus 8 лет назад
***** Yes, I am aware of that. The Feast of Steven is obviously the episode in the classic series that is the least likely to turn up, but sometimes things that are written down on paper aren't always carried out. Someone might say that they will destroy something, but they end up procrastinating or might want to keep it. There is hope, or maybe I am an optimist.

+BabelColour Oh, yes. Most definitely! Sorry, I meant to mention that part too. What I meant was technology (the re-editing to make the clips seem so alive, fresh, and real) being used how it should be used (to enhance and express those human aspects such as imagination and artistry). I love all that you have done. My favourite is the amalgamation of all of the episodes, and I really loved and appreciated that you edited it to add the newer episodes a couple of years after the original installment. Keep being Awesome!
